DJ Benz @ Glow

More than a decade ago Ben Goldman began his musical voyage as DJ Benz. Born and raised in Chicago, Benz introduction to dance music came through his early experiences with new wave bands like Erasure and Depeche Mode. Then in the early 90's Benz attended his first rave in Chicago where he began his love affair with house music. He has since DJ'd at every reputable club in Chicago. Benz credits Chicago House legends Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Paul Johnson, and the French pioneers Daft Punk, as very important influences who helped shape his sound and style. The combination of Benz impeccably clean mixes and his ability to seamlessly blend classic tracks with hot new releases creates an appeal that reaches every person in the room.

His love for all music was most evident at his Wednesday night Berlin residency where he somehow managed to blend together House, Electro, Industrial, 80's, Hip Hop, Pop, and Alternative, all to the delight of the crowd. Along with making a sizeable impact on the dance music community as a DJ, Benz has influenced the scene in Chicago and across the United States as a promoter (Seismic Events, Flavour) and record label owner. Not only has he helped grow the music scene through his DJ'ing and promoting, he has also taken his dedication to music and intense desire to diversify his role and is now making waves heading up the hot Chicago imprint, Olive Records. It is Benz sincerity and loyalty to those close to him coupled with his never-ending musical energy and talent that truly make him a force to be reckoned with.
