I am planning my first trip to BKK and have put in several hours reading all the postings to get educated. Just have wrapped up a wicked divorce, I am looking forward to 10 days to have fun and chilling.
I plan to spend 4 Days in BKK and the rest of the time on the beach, I would like to stay in one of the top resorts and check out some of the best bars/woman BKK has to offer. (Fortunately the X did not take all the cash)
This is what I have planned; any suggestions from the experts would be greatly appreciated.
BKK - Hotel - Stay in the JW Marriott - Looks like is one of the nicest places with the best location and is guest friendly. Do you guys agree??
BKK Bars with the best woman (and a little safer/pricey???): Pegasus, Piano Bar, Orbit, Chateau Blanc, CM2. Have I missed any of the top ones? Anything I should know about these?
I plan to take flight to spend the rest of the vacation on the beach chilling. Any suggestions for a great relaxed/safer beach where you can still have some fun with a beautiful girl or two? Any Suggestions?
For the first trip out I am willing to spend a little more doe to try to maximise the fun factor and reduce the risk as much as possiable.

Hey brother BK4, welcome to the brotherhood. If relaxing on the beach is what you're after then may I suggest Cha Am. It's about 2 hours south of BKK, it's very quiet and peaceful, it's a lot cooler then BKK or Pattaya and you can actually swim in the water without fear of any body parts rotting off  .
Just make sure you take a lady friend with you. Showing her appreciation for you taking her away from BKK for a few days could lead to you needing massage therapy  . Peace

It just seems like a double standard to me?

You seem to know a lot about FLB. What does FLB stand for? I'm just curious.
I barfined a girl there once, and she was pretty good.
I was much less impressed with the live band, however. Certainly can't compare with Lam Morrison at the Blues Factory nearby.

Guy asked about a beach. Pattaya has a beach. To head off alot of question about Pattaya why not direct him to another board that is very simular to bkktonight with up to date accurate info.
What double standard? I pass on usefull info about places I've been to where a guy can have a good time at a resonable price without getting ripped off. I also talk about Annie's MP, Guillivers, beergarden and a few other places I've been to. If you and other guys think this board would be better off without my posting let me know.

BK4Fun I'm not even close to being an authority, and as for being out of BKK I've only been to Pattaya and Hua-Hin (just down the road from Cha Am), so there you have the extent of my wealth of knowledge, ohh and 3 trips under my belt. Yeah, still a newbie, that's okay I did like you and everything has been as if hyper-accelerated since (Thank our Supreme Master for that!). On beaches I'll just say this, give Pattaya a miss right now and either do Cha-Am or Hua Hin if you want to stay close to BKK, but Koh Samui and Phuket are gonna have better snorkeling and clearer waters thus better for swimming than either of the others. You could do the train also, stop at these places on your way down the gulf, but I do think the girls are better (or as good) in Samui and Phuket and certainly you will have far more to choose from on the islands.
CM2 is the BOMB! Gotta get there at least one night and you will most likely want to go for more. Piano and Orbit (in your mind) should be only visited under the assumption that the eye candy will be delightful for a couple of drinks and then you'll be moving on. Why? Because scoring there IS not very likely. Don't waste the time. As a warmup to CM2 they would work well though. Pegasus? Not qualified to comment but been told to forget it due to expense vs. quality issues.
Okay, these are your nights, as to your afternoon and early evenings, like post-shopping and pre-dinner you MUST (IMHO) hit the soapies. They are de-riguer for a man in your situation. And, no need whatsoever worry about the afternon breath creeping up (they got plenty Listerine), no need worry about the deodorant losing it's kick (they gloriously scrub every single bit of you), just present yourself. Disheveled is okay with them. But book one a day mid-day, only 1.5-2 hrs. and your off. In that time the most spectacular bathing ritual will occur followed by serene sexual interludes that will have you thanking the heavens you're now free to play everyday. Ratchadpisek is your epicenter here.
The only other advise I would offer is pack all your condoms with you. If you haven't used any in a while eperiment!, do some dry runs at home to make sure they're the right ones for you. Seriously, you don't wanna be there wearing a tournicut (sp?)! And, do not leave your hotel room without at least 2 on your person, always.
Finally, you don't mention your age or how long married. But consider this, whatever libido you have thought you had until now is but a fraction of what you will no doubt discover conjoured up from within you. Meaning, if you used to like 3 a weeks, or one a days well now you'll find you want to do it three times a day, and trust me here, they will have you knowing that you can, want to, ARE, and DO enjoy doing it everyday three times a day.
Or, looked at another way, remind yourself how old you are right now. Now ask yourself (and answer honestly) how old you feel right now. Next, forget that shit. Now! And why? Because I can guarantee you'll be feeling somewhere between 5-15 years younger by your 4th day there. Better still, this affect will not go away. No siree! I kid you not bro! You have just found the fountain of youth we call the LOS. You, well you, will recall it by never being the same again bro.

Pattaya is not a relaxing beach. It is a beach town with a real focus on sex. There are beer bars out the ass, with many, many, many haggard and a few good-looking BGs. It has a few good go-gos, it is fun for novelty sake (from my POV). It is only a 800-1100 baht private-car ride from Bangkok, and it has great golfing nearby, and the diving (if you are certified) is under-rated.
Cha Am is a more proto-typical beach town. It is quieter on weekdays. You might think about bringing your own TG, as the nightlife is not bustling.
I like Koh Samui, and it is only an hour away by flight. Has great beaches and an OK nighlife.
Koh Phi Phi is my favorite, however it is monsoon season there now. Come October, it is much nicer. There is less nighlife there, but the area is beautiful. Bring a TG, from BKK, she will love it!
One more thing .. in BKK, instead of the Marriott, save some cash and stay at the Majestic Suites. http://www.majesticsuites.com ... it is super-clean and guest-friendly.

I think 4fun is looking for a "top resort." JW Marriott definitely fits that bill. Spent a few nights there and it's a top notch hotel across the board - except for the towels (didn't stay at a SINGLE hotel in LOS with plush towels for some reason). MS is a bargain for the money but from my understanding it's not in the same class as the Marriott.
My two baht says JW is the way to go for the high end lodging in BKK.
