i think this is a good point.
i was like that in the past,as were many members.
but now i find most info i need is available and do not need to start new threads.
pity the newbes and not so newbies have to continue to start threads with the same old questions.

Seems pretty obvious to me that EWO is suggesting that many long-standing big posters have started new threads very sparingly, while some newbies have devoted a large proportion of their activity to this.
I suspect we are also being invited to consider the relative usefulness of the individuals concerned.

EWO has this fascination with numbers, nothing wrong with that at all, he is a nice guy. But I had dinner with him the other day and he started to count his french fries, then he pulled out this little ruler from his pocket and measured his cheeseburgers width and circumferance. Then he whizzed of some mathematical calculation in his head and I said what the f_ck are you doing, well it seems that the calculation gives him the exact number of chips he can eat with each mouthfull of cheeseburger and therefore finish the perfect meal without wanting any more of one or the other.
I hate to think what he does with those tg's in his room, he said he was kinda kinky.

While I appreciate your analysis on the effectiveness of this forum to convey information, I think you're kind of missing out on some other benefits the brothers derive from this community.
A lot of posts are used for socalizing; they let members build familiarity with each other, and help us all build a sense of community. ÝSince most of us haven't met in the physical world, this kind of stuff is important (I think) to make this forum feel like a fun place to spend some time - rather than an information clearinghouse. Ý
Of course, I'll go along with you on the tendency of some members' tendency to spam new threads...

Without really meaning to, you have just added further testimony to EWO's greatness.
While rarely commented on, unsatisfactory chips-to-burger ratios - a worldwide phenomenon - are a major cause of avoidable human misery. Who can deny that the first thought which occurs to us, when presented with a burger and chips is: "oh, too many (or too few) chips"? Most of us leave it there. But EWO realises that this concept of too many/too few chips is essentially meaningless unless it can be related to the size of the burger. Furthermore, he realises that it matters. It is precisely small annoyances of this kind which can tip the balance between a good mood and a bad one, leading to battered wives & children, an unsatisfactory trawl through Cowboy, diplomatic crises or even war.
I myself approach the chips-to-burger question from an aesthetic point of view. But is it not the case that aesthetic problems can often be reduced to pure mathematics? And is this not often the surest route to finding practical solutions?
Let us hope that when EWO has completed his researches into these matters, he will turn his mind to another great problem of the age: the sense-to-emoticons ratio in nokna's posts. In so doing, it is conceivable that he might not only discover the purpose of nokna but, in unravelling that mystery, stumble on the meaning of life itself. Ý
