OK Gents, with all the hype and backing of the experienced Baron's old-timers, I thought I give Tulip Massage a try today.
For a start, finding it is dead-easy, smack under the tong-loh BTS station and lots of signage. Entrance looks like some clinc/dentist, but once you're inside with the girls seated behind a big curtain, the setup becomes clear.
Saeng was clearly in charge as the new mamma-san, leading me to the desk and swiftly arranging for a girl. Must say, the line-up of girls was not really that impressive. Approx. 10 or so short, average looking girls in typical 'barber' outfits.
So I went with her suggestion and we made our way to the newly constructed rooms. Not a nice 'new car smell', but rather a malodorous terpentine smell with the paint-cans still standing around and contractors finishing the last bits. The rooms are similar to Barons. New, but very basic. Showers were actually too small to accomodate 2 people.
My girl was obviously nervous and efforts to make some conversation from my end didn't go anywhere. She was average looking, not attractive/nor repulsive. Good body. So after the shower, she silently she started her 'routine' of rubbing some oil here and there and after 15 mins or so popped the 1500 Baht question.
Honestly, I wasn't really that horny, but proceeded to see what was still in store. So she went to do her thing and I went along for the ride. It was clear that she was trained by the old-timers as we went through the same 'procedure' of AR/BBBJ/FS/BBBJ/CIM. So yes, they do deliver 'the works' and leave you satisfied. Another shower and dressing up brought us to the 60 mins mark and that was it.
Final verdict?: C+
It's clear that that the girls have had their training/instructions, so you do get off, but the overall feel of the place/girls just is a bit too sad, cheap & nasty. If that's what you're looking for (and sometimes you do), give them a try...

It seems the reviews are somewhat careful. Meaning the girls. You can teach them the skills, but you can't teach them the attitude!
Maybe Saeng still has some aces in her sleaves, or then again maybe it's just a learning process for her too, being in charge of the place.
Hope the amount and the quality in looks will improve (although the looks never were the reason to go but..) and most importanly they will find personalities in there!
A shame if Barons was departed for this what sounds somewhat average satisfaction.
Or then maybe Miss S. will have to fit herself in there and do what she does the best! 
But she has money already and no doubt will keep some of her regulars happy so... maybe no playtime in her own massage? Perhaps take away for the lucky ones?
Wish well for Tulip anyway. I believe things will start to work out after the early fuss.

It might be helpful to recall that when Baron first opened some 8+ years ago no "extras" were permitted... there will be some toothing pain before this place gains traction. And no guarantee that it will.

As we zipped past Tulip today in a taxi the contrast and closeness of the [new school] Tulip to [old school] Chavalla caught my attention. I mean, really, they're only a long block apart but worlds away in their approach to 'our' needs.
There is a certain charm to the old school rites found within the Chavalla and its Turkish bath rituals.
Say, there's a thought, if you do pop into Tulips and the FB doesn't do it for you. Exit out to Sukh., hang a left and walk down to the Caltex and soi 34 junction and pop into Chavalla for a whiff of old school.

just tried Tulip; c. 25 girls mix of looks, none out-standing. one I chose definitely A for effort; taught she told me by "teacher mook, teacher nui, and teacher saeng". she was actually far more attentive in washing--and the room I had, had a big shower--& in massage than my recollection of either t. mook or t. nui.
in other respects she was keen, enthusiastic, and hard-working. talked a lot, v entertaining in thai I often couldn't keep up with. but the thought of them practising washing/massaging/arousing each other (it was all female training--assuming you count t. Nui as F.) was worth the price.

Yes Tulip can provide you with take away if you want. if you take a girl out after 9pm it will cost you 1000 baht until 11pm and if you want her to stay with you after that time you need to talk to the girl. If you take her before 9pm it is 1000 for two hours.
Taking a girl out all day will cost you 3000.
