In order to put things in perspective, the minimum wage in Thailand seems to be around 150 Baths per day, meaning aroung 20 Baths per hour.
That means I gave her the equivalent of 1.5 hour minimum wage (30 baths).
In Europe, we have a minimum wage of around 8 Euros per hour (9 Dollars). So that's like giving a 12-Euro tip in Europe (13 Dollars). Not too bad actually...
A 500-Bath-Tip on the other hand is like giving a 3-day- wage tip, so the equivalent of around 200 Euros (220 $).
Anyway, If she had asked for 500 Baths for a HJ only, I would have refused. I prefer to pay like a 2000 Baths package including everything.

Minimum wages have nothing to do with this. You got something you didn't have to ask for, you obviously enjoyed it and you should have tipped more than a lousy 20 baht.
And it's "BAHT", not "BATH". You could at least make an effort and get the currency right.

You know it really gets to me how some people feel the need to equate the minimum wage paid in LOS with the fees being charged for "services rendered" by the ladies in the P4P biz. WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING!
A while back we had a discussion on why some of us feel that the P4P ladies are deserving of more special consideration over people like taxi drivers or waitresses or cashiers, etc. Allow me to give my personal opinion on that matter.
Because taxi drivers are not at risk of contracting an STD or AIDS from doing their job.
Because waitresses do not have to deal with some 300 pound, sweaty, guy climbing on top of her as part of her job.
Because cashiers don't have to worry that as part of their job they have to go to a hotel room ( Especially if it's a ST hotel ) with a total stranger and spend the whole time in fear of whether or not this guy is the one that will finally go psycho on her and stab her 50 times.
So there it is. My reasons why I feel these ladies are a bit more deserving of extra consideration over the average minimum wage worker, and deserving of a hell of a lot more consideration then a 10% tip for "services rendered". Peace

You should either admit that you have shafted the lady by pretending that you don't know better, or just claim temporary stupidity.
Trying to defend what happened by bringing up the minimum wage excuse makes you look even worse. When was the last time you got a HJ for 12 Euro at your home country? I bet you will get your ass kicked by the ladies in your country if you offer them 12 Euro for a HJ.
