I did a lot of recon in this area today and I'll post the results. It's all 'off the beaten path' stuff.
Left the base at 1400 to get a haircut in Central Rama 3 and also paid my phone and internet bill there. Then I left the complex and turned right, toward Saphan Kwaeng (the big beautiful suspension bridge next to the Thai Farmer Bank tower). I walked 1/2 mile past the shacks of the construction workers working on the new flyovers. I came an offroad with a purple sign that said Massage Ida in English and Thai, with an arrow pointing down the offroad. I veered down it. Passed more slums. Two totally beautiful fairskinned gussied up like hi-so 18yrs olds were veering out in the opposite direction. I did not know if those angels came from the slum or the as yet unseen massage parlor. But by gum I hoped it was the later and there were more like them.
I passed a mosque. Some stray dogs. Children. Old people. About 200 yards. Then beside another highway swooping up there it is. The signs (in Thai) say it's a soapy massage, op ab nowad, you know what I mean. I just did a search in the soapy section and no thread on this place though lots of things come up that say the word Ida is mentioned, I haven't found it mentioned. Passed by yesterday morning via taxi cab and it looks like the Athena club on Sathu Pradit soi 20 way down in there (that I mentioned in a paragraph in a long post above) has been closed down and renovated as some other kind of business.
