I suspect also that the practice of shaving one's pubic hair, for girls anyway, has a long association in some Asian cultures with being "loose" and being a prostitute. Not a problem in modern Thailand, where shaving has become very common, even among "good girls"...but in far more conservative societies, like Cambodia, mothers still regularly tell their daughters that "only hookers shave down there"...

I apologise unreservedly to all you worthy scions of Thailand who found my last post offensive, although I do find it strange that many of you equate pubic hair with smelly pussies.
