Sorry, Jojje, but if you have been spending time in Thailand since 1977, YOU should be spending your time posting your OWN experiences, rather than worrying about my likes/dislikes, or my posting style.
And yes, this forum is for ALL levels of experience, as far as I know. But being insipid isn't necessarily rewarded...
Also, you may want to read some of the topics here, and UTFSE, before you go asserting your preferences regarding others' posts. Establish some credibility, THEN let us know your opinions...
As for me being an expert, far from it. But I go out, walk around, and share my experiences. I don't waste others' time asking questions I could walk 100 meters or click on a link and answer myself.
I just don't like those who need it spoon-fed. Too many Internet jockeys in Thailand already. f_ck 'em.

I will say, based on your own recommendation, I've made 5 visits to your hallowed Hair Design and enjoyed myself there on each visit. Staff is good, as you said it would be. They sure wern't as coy as you alluded to though and put the BJ on the plate on my first visit. Then too I think the shower facillities and especially the confined space of the cubicles leave much to be desired and are sub-par for BKK. But I did check it out and am moving on now and expanding the realm of the know and the 'too be discovered' which is what set me to moving on to try Sabai-Sabai. You know as much as I that much if not most of what we write of is subjective and highly variable based on the 'click', or lack thereof. I tried the 5 times at Hair-Design with the same gal as there appeared to be a good click and nice vibes. Her massages were very satisfying and included a very appealing light, intimate touch and the BJ was great. But! With each visit that waned and the last was meant to be the last. So off I go...
And, as far as Sabai-Sabai goes- backoff asshole! : My GF works there and you're defaming her honor so

Just ribbing you with a  But seriously I did not yet try the inhouse at Sabai-Sabai but they do have a nice lineup of girls and didn't appear to me to be overly aggressive, outrageously priced, or scammers for that matter, at all. The mgr is somewhat aggressive in her sales but not so far as to be obnoxious about it.
All in all, while I agree with you about the GP girls in general it wasn't that I was lazy but rather decided I wanted 'that girl at that time' and chose the option then. Only later, as I reported here did I run into the absurd price negotiations. As you well know that can happen nearly anywhere and is based on whimsy as much as house 'policy'. More than anything I'm just surprised you jumped in so ascerbic here. It really was out of character for you IMO.

Glad you're getting over it. 
Also happy to know that you 'tried' Hair Design FIVE TIMES! You'd be surprised to know how many expats SAVOR that place, and have been coming (and going) for years. As I tried to point out, it is NOT a wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am place. You can get to know the girls, and drop by for a drink and some laughs, without feeling the pressure to go upstairs. And take out is pretty reasonable...
The reason it is such a unique place (though this may have escaped you) is the management: very strict toward the girls, regarding dress, behavior, and punctuality, and an emphasis on some charm, in contrast to the "How much for a f_ck, baby?" sex-tourist approach, SOME people bring to Thailand.
To address your dismay at my 'ascerbic' [sic] tone, be aware that you represent (to me) a lot of what is WRONG with these forums: they make it too easy to find Thailand, when you have a tough time finding your own ass with both hands...

Sad to see that some people need to show off in such an aggressive manner and also seem to have the opinion that it is fully acceptable in a forum like this and if it offends others it´s their problem or "f_ck off".
Bad manners I call it and it is especially notable in a place like this were bros from all over the world meet to chat and it all probably was meant from the beginning to be just "fun & games" and a few laughs. For haam it is dead serious and anyone not meeting his standards or views are just in the way. I thought I have read here many times how some people are being treated by the Thais and complain about it. That the locals are almost "racist" and consider "farang" to be of some lower class. Ok, some people may behave like that and deserve it, but I did not think it would be the same here on the forum.
And I must also state that I never during at least 10 trips NEVER have been treated badly by the Thais or had any of the problems one can read about here occasionally. And no - I have not stayed in the room all the time just to take a taxi back to the airport. I have both worked and partied in LOS.
Sure I could tell stories - many stories - from 1977 and onwards. I don´t think they are interesting to anyone because they are old and are of no practical help here. I have not been in Bkk since -99 and tips from those days I hardly think is of any help here. Places and chics I met then are most likely not there now!
Now I have picked up a lot of useful info on this fourm and OF COURSE I will return the favour by posting MY tips and impressions once I´m there again next month. It will also be fresh news since I will write it down and post it same day it takes place. Give and take, sure!
Skip - where is the "Hair Design" place located you mention? Thought I would try it out.

No, I was talking about "no BJ, HJ at 1500bt. and FS at 5000baht"! Plain and completely ridiculous.
If you just stumble outside GP, walk down three steps on Soi 11 and enter any of the bars over there, it will take you less than 5 minutes to get a real deal.
Walking 50m and talking up a good looking bar girl, all in less than 10 minutes - wow, that's really difficult and demanding, isn't it?
And I'm not even going to mention Q-Bar and Bed some further couple of hundred yards down the road. Two very nice music clubs with lots of cute freelancers and amateurs.
Walk in the opposite direction, and you'll quickly hit the Suk. populated by hordes of interesting freelancers (LTs for less than what the Benz "princess" trys to charge for a single BJ!)

I share your preference for Soi 11. It seems the best possible location from which to begin exploring Bangkok.
Just one question: What bars 3 steps down Soi 11?
Has it changed THAT much in 12 months? The last bar I remember, not counting Genesis, is Big Boy, a GAY bar that got torn down and converted to a guesthouse (or SOMETHING) last year (next to 7-11). Aside from that, I can't think of ANY bars toward Sukhumvit.
Bed and QBar are, as you point out, up the soi a bit, and are a bit upscale to be considered casual pick-up places...
