I do not know about the shows as we have not visited those but going to go-gos is very safe and my GF enjoyed those a lot. I saw two more couples in those places as well. But our case might be different from yours as we were there to chose 'the victim' while having a few drinks.

The Malibu bar does a good Cabaret show, which is free if you are eating or drinking.
The go-go bars are the place to go if you want something a bit more exotic.

Havn't been to any for a few years. You have to be careful about being scammed.
I remember Firecat on Patpong Soi 1 as being fair. Just ask before you go in that there is no cover charge for the show.
If the staff give you an obviously inflated bill, argue the case initially. If things then get heated the best bet is to pay the bill and then walk outside. At the Silom end of the walking street, Patpong 1, is a Tourist Police box. Go and tell them what happened, they will then go back with you to the bar and will 9 times out of 10 get your money back.
Have not seen any f_ck shows in Pattaya, but was not looking to much.
