At least they did not have to make room for them in the jail. Let's get to the real reason for the raid, I bet all the police confiscated all the equipment for use on their girlfriends.

Brother Oaktoad, apologies for not providing a URL, I just went to the Nation to find one and cannot find the article anywhere ?!?!? I can tell you that I guarantee this appeared yesterday (Wednesday 18th feb 2004) as I viewed it by accessing the Nation News webpage. I don't understand why it has gone from their site, maybe a fellow brother in the area could back me up by checking to see if its closed or not ?
I'll ensure a URL is posted with any future findings. It is strange that it has gone though.

A bar featuring caged semi-naked women inviting patrons to engage in sado-masochistic acts was the first victim of the government's latest crackdown on nightlife. Deputy Interior Minister Pracha Maleenond led the police raid on The Cave in Sukhumvit Soi 33 shortly after midnight yesterday.
They discovered three G-string clad dancers tied-up in a steel cage and dozens of women wearing school uniforms. The raid interrupted a sadistic show, in which caged women were inviting guests to whip them or pour melted candle wax over their bodies. The customers were in turn invited to experience the same treatment from their ''victims''.
Mr Pracha also found evidence of prostitution on an upper floor of the bar, where there were beds, a number of used and unused condoms and about 30 girls, many of them dressed in school uniforms. There were about 20 customers in the bar.
The Cave is the first entertainment venue to be closed under the new entertainment venue law, which became effective on Jan 13. Under the law, the bar can be closed for up to 90 days and its owner could be jailed up to a year and/or fined up to 60,000 baht.

boy, in the Bangkok Post, not the Nation..
so much for the guarantee up there..
the article is pretty much BS.. no beds upstairs, no where near the number of girls they claim work there.. when I have been there only one girl dressed as a student....
but it makes better reading and I guess they want to stress that furiners are going after the young students..
I am getting to the point that I just don't believe anything the newspapers except Dilbert

Oaktoad> I read it in the Nation, another brother spotted a smiliar article in the Post, as you can see the 2 articles are written completely differently so I did not read it in the post and then state the Nation.
