Thanks jazzmusicman for the accolade, intended or not. I take it as a great compliment. However there are other illustrious members of this forum who have far more of an in-depth and daily-updated knowledge of performances and optimum times of the day or night than I.
I am just a lost soul, a frequent passer-by, knocking on the door, pleading for help and succour and any womanly attention that they can give to me at any time that I find myself stranded there. I try to get stranded there as often as I can....time and the elusive spondulicks permitting.
But to attempt to answer your question.............
Each day at the Star of Light is different. So it may be busy one morning and not on the next. The same with the evenings. Most afternoons are fairly busy and the busiest days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But there have been times on these days when I have dropped, sank, collapsed inside the buzzered door and there hasn't been a customer in sight.
At other times, when I have expected the bar to be deserted, I've had to step through and over bodies to get to my Tiger......I go for nothing else, you understand.
But of course, all this depends on what you want, when you ask, "What is the best time ?"
The best time for a crowd of other guys ?
The best time to have a bit of peace and quiet without any other customers there ?
The best time to have the widest possible choice of ladies ?
As has been written before, a couple or three ladies open the bar in the early morning and usually about 9:30 a.m. they are finished cleaning and preparing the bar for the day. If you go earlier than that,you just get in the way of all the early and essential bar work and cleaning.
But if you are really desperate, they will welcome you just as much as later.
A number of the other ladies nearly always try to turn up for work by mid-day to catch the afternoon traffic and the rest have to turn up for work by 4 p.m.
I hope that this sort of answers your questions.
You ask......"What is it like.............."
Well, I don't really know what it would be like for you.
To me, every time its heaven.
I suggest, even if you have only a few weeks to spend here, you go every day at different times of the day and keep a detailed record. Of course, no names.
And then, on the SOL thread, write and post a really good FR of your thorough research into the Star of Light Bar.
We would all appreciate it very much.

It's not complicated at all. It's really quite simple and a simple pleasure that some of us indulge in, if we can get Joe Wood unstuck from the bar and out of the way.
The charge of 700 baht is minimal. - makes me sick when I hear these guys quibbling with the girls over 700 - a matter of 200 more for the current price of a bj and begging for a discount and nursing only one beer durng their visit. Actually, it was Khun B***y who noted that "Star of Light lady open 24 hour like Seven," meaning 7/11.
She means it, too. I have called all of my girls in the middle of the night on various occasions (I am a night owl) and asked them if they wanted to go get coffee or something to eat.
"No, daddy, sleep." They sound so lovely when they are drowsy.
