I've been there a couple of times with BK. Although we had a good time (I was sitting with a hottie) this place looks to me high pressured and overpriced.

Perhaps a few, but that is maybe because they realized after so many years I'm not that easily pressured.
Queens Castle (next to TipTop) and now gone and Pussy Collection are two of the bars I always liked to visit.

Went here with a couple of friends who live here but don't get out much due to their significant others. First time I've been there and I was impressed. Attractive girls were dancing with enthusiasm and looking like they were enjoying themselves. We each got a girl and took them to the lounge area to sit on the couches. We bought them some lady drinks -200 baht tequila shots and my friends started immediately groping their girls, fingering them, having a great time. My friends both speak Thai and were laughing and joking with their girls. I knew I wasn't going to take my girl and didn't want to go to the same limits as my friends. In fact, I guess I wasn't groping her enough, since she kept putting my hands on her by herself. We all had a good time and the girls didn't pressure us much. I recommend this place. It's the first place I'll go when I go back to Patpong.

My experience in late May was quite similar to jayh's (...well, I think there was a little less groping, mainly because most of us didn't have any of the gals sit with us. We were happy just enjoying the view).
A Thai-speaking non-Thai friend who now works in Bkk was there for the first time with me. It was a weeknight, so customers were few - which was good.
My friend described the place as a 'sex club' more than a gogo bar. Of course it's a gogo, but his point was that the lighting, decor, placement of the single/double poles, and spacing wasn't typical of most gogos elsewhere. And we saw one dancer giving a sort of lap dance to a customer in a corner couch
He certainly liked it, and so did I. Not great when there's too many guys, e.g. one night in October last year when there was some kind of party on (then I did a quick walk through and left).
All in all, it was enjoyable, even if just hanging out having a couple of drinks and watching the gals make their moves on the poles...and elsewhere in the bar.

Nice report, jayh. Can confess that I felt consoled after reading that bit about your friends "who live here but don't get out much due to their significant others." Oh well, I started thinking, who is worse off ? Guys like your friends, or those like me who don't live here and don't get to travel here much too due to their significant others ? I think your friends are better off
As for me, I've had my fun as and when I escaped, and Patpong was a favourite hunting ground until its gradual demise began with the closure of QC. Will look up Black Pagoda next time... however far in future that might be.
