I have spent quite a few nights in the OM NOI area,, about 40 minutes in a taxi from Sukumvit (in non peak hour). At least one very good quality night-club called Return hotel. excellent live entertainment ( top quality).
Door charge I think 200 BHT a bottle of Black label 1,200 BHT. Karaoke next door is ok for gals but if you go to the quiet bar beside the return pub you will find what you are after...maybe 1,00 LT if you can negotaiate.

Return Pub is about 500 metres from an apartment block called AP apartments ( cheap rooms there also about 500 BHT per night). AP apartments is located across main road from the OM NOI markets I have had little trouble getting taxi;s there from Sukumvit or air-port.

For the taxi to Indra Square.... say Indra Hotel.... more likely the driver will understand. If you drive you can park at the Indra Hotel garage and walk it in 3 minutes. Garage will charge you 50-60B unless you buy something at Indra Square.
I did not do karaoke.... was going to the teachers BK bookstore which is right there down a subsoi on the left after the RR tracks.
First right turn after Indra takes you right back to Soi 3 and the Nana/Suk area easily.

bkk - yep that is Makkasan Road. Direct shot to Plaza Entertainment & Cupidy. Little trickey since there is no turn arrow. On a bike you overshoot it & hang a U turn.
Years ago that was the main road into town from the Airport. Din Daeng etc.

There's another area near the Indra that has a few karaokes with ok looking girls. Take the BTS up to Victory Monument and then walk down the left hand stairs on the south side (the side away from Victory Monument) of the station. Just beyond the end of the stairs is a fairly short street called Rang Nam. Every night there are a ton of small sidewalk restaurants set up and around the middle of the street - maybe a 5 minute walk from the BTS station - there are a few little Karaoke bars. Some have the girls sitting outside so you can check them out before you even go in.

This is actually the same general area. On the other side, Rang Nam exits onto the continuation of Pratunam up from Indra Hotel. Also, the entire neighborhood is peppered with short time hotels.

One year later. I don't have much info yet. But I'm sure other members of the board do. Anyhow I've been searching the threads.
If you cross the Grungtep bridge and follow Rachada up to Pinklao you'll see a lot of them. A long time ago, I had been to a few massage parlors in the Pinklao area. There are tons of them and karokes too up there. A few are on Pinklao Rd itself, between Pata and the bridge. Others are on the road behind Pata and behind the markets around there. Some decent looking girls; some very pretty; others not so great. Some are huge, some are small. It seemed like the girls in the karaokes were prettier than the massage girls, as far as I recall.
There are other areas out there too with a lot of action, so I hear. Past the Mall Tapra. Or around Wongwien Yai I had thought. Also some Thai disco/show places of course (such as Dance Fever on Rachada or Excite on Charoen Grung) like Thonburi Plaza which also has a karaoke. Basically any center of population in Thailand has got to have something going on. Not to would be inconceivable. It's just a point of locating them!
