It is done lovingly or with tender reward.
I have been observed by forum members having a 19 year old willingly Happy to do "what I want" because I treat them well.

To go to the original question I would suggest you do what I normally do. Stay 5 days in Bangkok, who wants to take a long Taxi ride to Pattaya straight after a long plane journey? Then do 5 days in Pattaya. Then decide what you want to do with the remainder of your holiday.
Personally, I like both places and it is easy to split a holiday between the two. Those who say that the girls in Pattaya are all ugly are talking baloney. I think they are about the same in both places.
Those who jump straight into a Taxi to Pattaya at the airport and never see Bangkok are nuts in my opinion. Bangkok living costs more but it is a City and there is more non whore-mongering stuff to do. It tends to be hotter and more polluted and more congested. The hotels are better but more expensive. But it's great and I love it.
Pattaya tends to be cooler and has more of a holiday seaside feel. It is generally cheaper and the bars stay open past the official closing times. It's a great place for a holiday.
The only thing to do is check out both places and give them a chance. I sometimes think those who are anti one place have probably had a bad experience and just given up before they really get to know whats available.

For P4P I prefer Bangkok; Pattaya girls I never had any luck with (most seem to be starfish).
Pattaya itself is not very pretty; don't expect beautiful beaches. The go-karting is fun, but one can only stretch 15 minutes so far!
If you want P4P, stick to Bangkok. If you do go to Pattaya, expect very little. Or stick to the pool and take a rest.
