Recent prices, don't know ..... sorry! But what I do know you have to be very careful with renting such stuff be it in Samui, Phuket, Pattaya or anywhere else in the Kindom. Jet-Ski break down all of a sudden ... guess who's going to pay for it? Accident with a motorbike .... right .. Be always alert .....

DrLove, I heard about that shit happening. I was once at Narita airport in Tokyo waiting for my plane to depart to BKK and I met this guy from Alaska (a fisherman) who goes to Thailand 8 months a year and spends the other 4 months working on the fishing boat. I asked him about that stuff (rigging Jet-ski's to f*** up so they can make the customer pay for it, or even if it was an accident) and he told me that was horse-shit (he even appeared to be offended). Even so, I was still worried about that kind of thing happening.

Chetlue, many years ago, I rented a jetski in Koh samui for 500B per 30 min. This could have doubled by now but try getting them at 500. For motobike rental, the price is usually 150B a day. Big bikes cost a lot more but why anyone would need a big bike is beyond me when a scooter does just fine.

Dagul, believe me ..... After many years in Thailand (of which a couple in the tourist industry) I have seen quite a few clients getting in trouble about this. Usually I could fend them off because of my Thai language ability ...... Related thread about driving motorbikes in Thailand: http://bkkx.com/cgi-bin/forum/topic.cgi?forum=19&topic=361&start=0

chetlue, As far as motorbikes go, there are SEVERAL large, established agencies to rent from, and B150/day is about right. If you rent from the dodgy boys hanging around with one or two bikes, you may have problems, but the big ones are OK. I personally HATE little bikes, especially on Samui, because they haven't enough power to get out of the way of faster traffic, particularly on hills. The problem is that there aren't many bigger bikes for rent. 250cc would be PERFECT... And dagul, I think you may have already learned to be careful WHO you believe... haam sup

Yes, true .... For the hills between Lamai and Chaweng you need a powerful bike. Some of them are quite steep and provide almost no visibility ..... Also good brakes won't hurt ....

I'll assume you're in Chaweng so.. 500 bt for 15 minutes on a decent jetski. It's best to do 15 mins for starters as your arms and legs will be in bits after that. 800bt for an Air con Jeep - from just about anywhere. There's a good place just down the turn off from Pizza Hut. Their bikes start at 150bt as mentioned before. This is a pretty standard price in Chaweng. Although, Lamai is a little cheaper for Air con Jeeps. Keep rockin, Partyboy
