For most, the next stop is getting to know Thailand is Chiang Mai, where you can easily get out in the country, yet still find the comforts in town.
Nov 24-25 is Loy Krathong/Yi Peng and in Chiang Mai it is mind-bendingly beautiful and amazing.
Then you can really start getting rural from there, read the "elswhere in Thailand" section.
No, Pattaya doesn't count, lol.

To me the best place where to go will be Khorat, it has a LOT of things to do around it if you like countryside, and a lot of MP in town

any of the bigger cities outside of bbk..... Khon Kaen, Korat, CM, CR, etc...... in fact Chiang Rai is cool, do a stop over in to Burma at the Mai Sai border...... cool border town... and decent night life in CR......

You may wish to go to places like Kanthanaburi or somewhere else inland and interesting or beautiful where you will find a shortage of 'entertainment places'.
Some guys just spend a little time in Bangkok or Pattaya trawling for the right companions and once the negotiations are over regarding what they would want on their trip and the payment to be made on completion, off they go......not that having a blow-job or anything in the middle of the jungle appeals to many, but at least when you stop over for the evening and night at some hotel or guest-house, you know that you will be looked after in the way that you want.
Have companion......... Will travel.

I think, Joe, you're right in that the massage and karaoke places which are in Kanchanaburi or elsewhere more remote may not be recognizable to myrth's friend; or even enjoyable; not comprehending how to get in with it. No Go Go's or Western style Bar Beers.
As we know... In almost every town, city and village tamboon there are "places to enjoy women". Thailand is amazing. In fact I am often literally dumbfounded as to just how unlimited a plethora it seems. Just depends on how much he can get in with the scene, our tree friend... If you speak Thai well, and know how to get along, you could wind up virtually anywhere in this country and have a good time with girls.
If you've looked through this section here, myrth (Elsewhere in Thailand), there are lots of ideas exactly what you're after, many reiterated in the posts above. If your friend can't speaky the lingo, then you'll find plenty of fun in these places. I like Hua Hin. Plenty of threads about it.
I would love to get out of the city now myself, but I won't be free to do so for a month or so.

I'd recommend it for the hills and waterfalls, but not for the P4P
Chiang Mai P4P scene sucks to IMHO
CR is great for the Coyote Dancers
Udorn was ok, with a small P4P scene
the idea of wanting to see how real Thai people live and yet wanting to still have your P4P in the evening is crackin' me up
you can see plenty of real Thailand only 30 to 40 minutes outside Pattaya and still make it back in time for the P4P

if we decided to shack up in pattaya, would we simply hire some taxi dude that spoke english to take us out to the hinterlands for the day, or what would your worldly-traveller types do?
