Sawasdee Khrap Folks ~
This has probably being discussed in here (surely some of the regular punters would point this one out) but I have need to get more up-to-date information about Kho Samui.
I’ll be there on my last leg of my holiday in June and I’ll be staying at the Chaweng Resort Hotel – never been to Kho Samui so I’m not quite sure what to expect – the hotel looks charming and it’s right on the beach. So far so good, but what I need to know how far it is from the best action Chaweng Beach has to offer, is it at walking distance from it or do I need to hire a motor?
Also, which are the best nearby Go-Go (if any)/Beer Bars?

I stayed at chewang beach resort last year for few days. Excellent location because is right next to central and walking distance to pretty much everything you want a do in chewang. Most of the actions are on green mango road which is about 10 minutes walk or u can just hop on one of the tuk tuk for 20 bath and get off at right before the end of the road. You will find few beer bars and christie ladyboy club where they perform every night. I also saw couple of beer bar not too far from chewang resort as well. So you all set and not to worry.. You are in the middle of shopping, and fun..

thanx for the info, your tips are more or less in line with my expectations.
I've heard of a bar called The Green Mango as the main attraction at Chaweng beach - lots of freelancers in there.
What's the quality of girls like? Some say that they are not up to BKK standard.
Still, it is a beautiful island to let one's hair down.

Well cute and ugly girls are everywhere. I have seen them all. Matter of fact I seen some real stunners in koh samui last time I was there.. Go to O'neils sports bar end of the chewan strip. Tons of cute girsl and very few farangs...

green mango is a disco same like the reggae pub in chaweng.
i personally prefer lamai over chaweng as less touristy and better girl scene. may be i am just to sick of these honeymoon farangs or farang families with kiddies in chaweng who do get upset when they see a farang with a TG!

That sounds a wonderful way to spend the day, but I did want to return to the UK with a nice tan if possible.
Do you have any reports about Sandsea resort , Long Island resort, Bay view or Sun Garden on Lamai?
These are a bit cheaper than Coral cove chalet, but I know you only usually get what you pay for!
I've looked through Google and checked out the resorts but you don't always get the full story.

Try the Baan Chaweng as well, nice bungalos, got a 1000B ac last week. There are big discounts at the moment.
The entrance is directly opposite the Full Circle bar and batch of beer bars but you will never hear them. ( it also is the entrance to Evergreen Resort - slightly cheaper but still very nice. )
One thing you might try is to walk along the beach, thats where most of the room prices are shown on boards - not on the street. This will only be practical of course if you have little or no luggage or stay 1 night somewhere then find the "dream" room when you know the geography better.
Just come back and the place is dead almost everywhere. Green Mango corner is the one exception and the bars there are usually full from around 10.30 - 11.00 Apart from that you will see maybe 2 or 3 customers in each bar - usually the owner crying into his beer because its so quiet.
The falang aimed bar / restaurants are usually busier but then you need to bring your own squeeze.
The 2 go-gos in Chaweng are Dream Girls and GB lounge - both were disapponting in quality and cost - 120B for a voBKa and coke, the girl wanted 2000B ST plus the 500B bar fine!
There are better pickings in the FLs and BGs, but if you see one you like get her soon before someone else does. Found one that would have done Eden proud, a true 3 holer.
One other place to try is Utopia - the Samui version of Eden. ( Its just another couple of streets over from Mango Steet. ) But you can take only 1 girl if you want. Drawback is, if you time it wrong they wont have anyone free. I went twice and everyone was booked til closing. Cost is 1600per girl in a fan room and 1700 in ac.
