Lovely Udon Thani.
Another lovely Big country town in Issan. Much larger than Nong Khai (OK what is it No. 3 or 4 in size in LOS) and still has the friendliness of country people.
Top Mansion Hotel in the centre of town, behind the bar's. 310b night, 18 months old, 64 rooms, all air-con, lge bed, very clean, GF, no safe in room, small balcony, just the basic's but for 310b it is very good value. Five min walk to bar's, Robinson's and 10 min to train station.
City Lodge Hotel, 600b> night, older place, 10 rooms I think, up the winding stair's, bar and restaurant on street level and a nice clean place. Not far from the bar's, Top Mansion, train station, market's and large shopping complex (Robinson's), less than 10 min walk.
Opposite Robinson's and behind the first row of shop's and Mr Tong's bar, there are a group of about 10-12 bar's, like a minature SC, side by side, and open around lunchtime and close early morning.
BF's are 300b, some nice looking girl's, and depend's on your bargaining power's but ST for me was 1000b, LT 2000b. If you are here for a while, price's can be adjusted. Booze is cheap, 45-50b for Sing, Leo, Chang and I think 55 or 60 for Heineken (small). This is a very relaxed bar area, not pushy, table and chair's out from the bar's under the verandah, a great way to really unwind.
Some of the most beautiful girl's I have seen in LOS are here, some stunner's and not P4P, well maybe lol. They are working in the Robinson complex of store's, the small individual shop's around town, you see them on the motor bike's all time's day and night, they are just downright gorgeou's some of them, and all size's and colour.
The brothel's are still operating in soi 2 and 7 Adunyadet Rd, nearly in the centre of town and less than a 10 min walk to the Robinson bar area's. Mostly Lao girl's and a couple you would take home, sweet. Watch the age's, seen a couple hovering around the 17yo mark and mammasan saying, "No 19 or 20yo", yeah right mamma. As you go into the soi's, the mamma/pappasan's will approach you in the soi, or you just walk past and see an open door and the girl's are just inside. They would be happy with 100b, but that's me, so don't get on the high horse some of you bloke's. And the girl's do not speak any English from what I found. The room's are small, the place's need a coat of paint or D9 dozer through them, so don't expect any palatial type joint.
Food is cheap up here, 60b for Thai buffet near the bar's, and plenty of little Thai restaurant's serving 30b>, duck, pork or chicken dishes.

Udon Pizza & Tex-Mex, 23/3 Sompunthamit Rd, UT, between Top Mansion & Irish Clock Hotel, near the bar's. A bloke from Wisconson has opened up this joint and bought over the tool's from the US to do the cooking. The soft shell taco's with salad 70b, very good, so I had 2. Have not tried the pizza's but he will guarantee them. He had a pizza shop in the US and know's the trade backwards, he get's some ingredients sent to him from the US.
I am going for breakfast, 80b for eggs, baked bean's, a sausage, piece of bacon, grilled tomato'es, 2 toast/jam and bottomless cup of coffee/tea.

I have been to Udon Thani 3 times now.. The information from Barrafish is very good.
However, I find the girls near Mr Tongs bar to be kind of sleezy... not up to my standards. I like the sweet innocent type. I did not find the selection to be that good. Perhaps because this is mostly a Falang hangout.

Just a couple of funny this thing's that happened in UT a few day's ago.
