The 'issues' I have are simple.
Amateurs posing as know it alls cannot be encouraged.
Especially when they specialise in giving advice to all and sundry like they've been there a million times.
Picking a bird from a go-goto go to a barren island without a testdrive...what a dumb move. Then asking her if its ok to take other lady and have her accompany him to the bars. Then pay some skank from Cambo 2,000 baht.... Thats not just pathetic; its blasphemy that might just taint the budding punters on this board.

Koh Chang is a change-of-pace place. Relax and enjoy some beautiful sunsets, but plan to go to bed early because there's not much nightlife. Sometimes I'll go for a day trip on my motorcycle, lots of fun to traverse the steep hills and winding roads.

The Adventure will continue in two weeks!
Just shaping up my plans for making it back to Koh Chang (and subsequently Cambodia). Plan is to head there on the 22nd with three friends, and then head over to Angkor Wat around the 26th/27th. Where this could become an adventure (and will be continued in the 'Outside Thailand' thread) is that we're going to attempt a new route to Siem Reap - they now offer direct flights from Sihanoukville (PMTAir), so we plan on heading via Koh Kong, to Sihanoukville, and then to Siem Reap and return to BKK. Anyone know how good PMTAir is?
(Oh shit, just noticed these guys are flying Russian Antonov aircraft... )

I am using this thread for Koh Chang information,instead of starting a new thread. I will be visiting Koh Chang in next 3/4 months time (Hopefully ). I want to see rain there, when is the time to witness rain ? And some of my friends are advising me not to stay in Lonely beach because the beach is rocky. Best one suggested as White sand Beach. Need comments here.

Right now.
In 3-4 months it will be August / September, which is just about the end of rainy season -- You might still get the occasional rain shower, but not the kind of torrent-like rains that are coming down now.
Stay away from Lonely Beach. As a beach, it sucks. I've found White Sand Beach to be the best, in terms of a nice, long, beach with fine sand. Be aware that there can be some serious riptides, depending on the season, that regularly claim lives.
Just know how to deal with riptides and you will be find.
