Larry, the best place (IMHO) to stay in BC is at the Camel, the rooms are clean, bed comfortable and I think it was about 1,000 Baht, LY recomended this place to me and it was a good call. It's right there on the strip too so no traveling around.
It is a small strip though, and the pickings were limited, even more so if the Jesters decide to descend on the place !
I totally understand your Pattaya feelings, it's too full on for my liking, not the bars, just the whole place, so in your face.
I'm checking out Jomtien for a few nights, the feedback so far is that there isn't an aweful lot going on, some bars, some girls, some ST bars, but the great thing is if it fails on the girl front i'm 10 minutes from Pattaya so can still find someone to party with.

Mmmm. I Know what your saying about Pattaya. But for Craziness I'm assuming BKK will fill my needs, as will availibility.
Another challenge for you all if you can be bothered.
Can't stand Hua Hin. Can't be bothered to take another couple of flights to Phuket or Samui & back. Pattaya doesn't appeal, but I would like to be close to the sea.
Picky ain't I.
Anybody got any better options, or should I stay in BKK & just take a trip to the docks everyday?
Perhaps not.

L O: IMO you're not gonna get anywhere worthwhile without suffering a bit. So maybe you should stay in BKK and hang out at the Sheraton pool.. I like Koh Chang the best for my beach time. No flying, but a pain in the ass to get there (4hrs). It's big and beautiful, with mountains, waterfalls, beaches, etc. There's a little P4P, but off season, I'd bring my fave from BKK. It depends if youw ant P4P as well or not, if just a beach within easy reach then BangSaen isn't all that bad, They keep it fairly clean at weekends, accomocation choices are poor and more expensive than they really should be, that said Tide Resort is nice for around $100 a night ish. LY posted about P4P on a main road around here somewhere where the girls SW but I don;t know where that is, other than that it's Thai Karaoke bars which often yield poor results. Galaxy Entertainment is worth a visit, i've had some crazy wild times in there.

the street walkers are on the long road that goes over the ocean, in Chonburi City
about 20km North of Bahng Saan
the FLs will gather around the boardwalk, I've heard as early as 7am

Both would work MSB, but quality and number of girls in 1 bar would be better in soi 6.
LY, this long road that goes over the sea, I tried google maps, does it have the municipality stadium at one end of the road ? and it appears the road may be called "khlong Sangkhep" (although we both know Khlong means canal !)
What are the rates and I assume there are ST rooms nearby for the deed ?
