I can confirm jumping jack statement about phi phi. I have been to phi phi five times,and there are freelancers about, in the reggae bar,also little bars of the front.also have seen group of ladyboys about three or four use to hang about the reggae bar.not as plentiful as patong,but still girls to be had.

I was on Phi Phi about two weeks ago with Dew. We renamed the place Koh Falang because of the lack of Thais there.
There are lots of single farang women running around, many of them very hot. Obviously, they are not p4p, though.
We did go to one interesting bar called (I think) the TinTin Karaoke Bar. When walking the main 'street' from the pier, look up and you will see a red sign for the bar. Turn left down a little alley and you will see it. It was mostly Thais there when we were there, but there was a table of Japanese guys and they had bought a couple of ladydrinks for some of the girls who worked there. I got the impression they would probably go with customers, one of them was cute.
Slim pickings, I know. But the bar was fun, and I got to hear Dew sing.

That pickings are slim compared to BKK or PTY. PP is a Falang price land. It is expensive for Thai to get or live on this island. All of the activity is to cater to the foreign tourists.  There are definitely women who look cute and available, not sure what the ST / LT rates would be here in this paradise. It might work to shop in Phuket and bring your catch from there over!
Beautiful place for a visit.  I would like to go back again! Now is high season and good weather lasts till the middle of April or so. I went the end of March this year and the weather was Great!

Gives me the creeps reading it. Note the dates - 22nd December - the countdown to the 26th was on. Those bars etc were totally wiped away. I have no idea what the current status of Phi Phi don is - anyone been there recently?
Once again glad I opted for Pattaya last Xmas.....

Whilst in Phuket recently, I was thinking about going to Phi Phi, and we were offered boat trips and accomodation around the North side of the Island - which was largely unaffected.
There were also informative posters stating that although Phi Phi is largely devasted, not all of it is, and there is still accomadation and daily boat trips. It went on to say the last thing Phi Phi needs right now is for tourists to stay away...!

I'll be visiting Phi Phi in the near future, and will post an update once I return. I've never been there and don't know the island, but if someone has a request for me to look into a specific place (ie--if it was destroyed in the tsunami) please post or send me a personal message.
