During high tourist season the Issan Army takes over most popular places. You have to wander off those places to get to locals or nicer beauties. Low season the Issan Army moves and locals come blossoming out.
Hell most fine assed Thai chicks work real day jobs or go to the uni. One ride on the BTS around BKK uni's you will see some exotic mixed Thai/Chinese/Indian/Malay stunners AKA 10s by face and body. #1 future wife and damm fine too.

I have been to Samui three times,, stayed in Lamai EVERY time,, is a great place, much more layed back than Chaweng and plenty of lovely ladies.
Stayed at "white elephant resort" ??? DIRT cheap and HUGE room,,, 2minutes on bike to main Lamia bar area.

Lamai is great. There was a cute, young thin girl trying to hustle for massages on the street one night. It was just your regular Thai massage place where the girls usually are looking to give you a hand job for some extra baht. We got in behind the curtain and I was able to negotiate full service for 800 total, no extra fee fro the massage (which never occured) 800 baht inclusive. I said I would only be staying 10-15 minutes. In that time I sucked he perky tits, ate her clean shaved piussy and f***ed her in several postions. All for $20 US. Went back the next day and did it again. Wonderful time!

Hello,
I would just like to share my limited expeience of samui.
First of all, it is limited to Chawang.
I went there in the year (late) 2000. At this time I saw some company was building a McDonalds.
I go back 5 years later, and I see a Starbucks, Bugger King, Svennsons, KFC, and A Warner Bros. store. The place is ruined.
I see the place FULL of western tourists who might as well be in Malaga. It makes me laugh... in 1990 this place was only known to those in the know. 15 years later, it could be any other high street in the US or UK.
Although disappointed, this makes me appreciate travel in so many ways. If you don't see places when you can, it's too late.
I remember talking to a guy in Luang Prabang who told me about when he visited Angkor Wat in the early 1990's surrounded by security guards and the place only accesible by helicopter.
Look at it now.. over run by Japanese tourists and western backpackers.
Question... where is the next (beach) place to be destroyed in thailand? I don't dare to ask for an "unspoiled" place to visit.
Just my opinion, some may like the destruction of samui.

I agree, Samui, especially Cheweng, has gone too far in catering to the lowest common denominator. There are beautiful parts of the island. I have many times taken a mototcycle throughout the island. Some really nice spots. Problem is, many of them are close to not so nice spots. Though the main towns are trashed up. Lamai is a great spot for picking up a girl, though. Cheap and fun. I still like the place.

You, as a foreigner are part of this Group... unless you are Thai.
If you can't handle the fact that other tourists visit the same places you visit, stop Travelling.
This is a Typical Farang Reaction, ask the Thais, you will see they are very happy to see Tourists around in Samui... (well, as long as they keep confined in the "Farang" areas (Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut, Maenam, Taling Ngam)

JUNE TRIP REPORT - SAMUI
first stop LAMAI for 3 nights.
stayed at Samui Jasmine Hotel. 2,550B per night.
rooms were new and good. nice ocean view. pool area is a bit crowded. nice beach. poolside restaurant had cheap nice food all day. service was only OK. no problems bringing girls back.
nighttime action:
i had only ever previously stayed at Chaweng but decided to spend some time in lamai for a bit of variety and because so many people had told me t he girls were better at lamai. I dont know if I got unlucky but lamai was DEAD for teh 3 nights I was there... I know its off season but there seemed to be almost no tourists, places like bauhaus were empty with about 5 patrons at 11pm. the beer bars were half empty and stunners were few and far between - but if you got out early and looked hard enough you would find a nice cutie.
next stop Chaweng for 5 nights.
chaweng just seemed to have more life about it. spent most nights at soi green mango. the 2 gogo bars make a nice place to start the evening. the gogo closer to the main road had a very large range of girls with at least 4 hotties that I would rate 8+. the girls are quite friendly but not cheap.... bar was 500 and none of the hotties would come back to my hotel for less than 2,000! (ST)... they would only do less than 2,000 if we used one of the rooms above the bar... but thats not my idea of fun so I passed.
the beer bars were much livelier than lamai, the girls quite friendly. bar fine was 200-300... 500 for ST (plus tip if they were nice).
green mango nightclub also got very busy after midnight. lots of thai girls around too... I met a bunch of girls from surit thani who had come to samui for a few weeks, started dancing with them and before I knew it one of the cuties and I were headed for my hotel... after an hour of fun she was quite happy with the 750B I gave her.

I prefer Samui to anywhere else in LOS.
Yeah stunners are harder to find but that's all part of the fun going from bar to bar trying to find that one you spotted last night when you were already hooked up lol.
And I find you get a much better GF experience than Bangers on Phuket, the girls dont come across as pro's.
And these days there is even a bit of action to be found on Koh Phangan if you know where to look (The main road from Had Rin to Tong Sala)
