@Bimlee > I've never stayed there but looking at the pics on the website it looks a bit naff to be honest. The pool looks tiny, not a lap pool for sure, maybe 4m in length ? its surrounded by quite a high wall which blocks the view (and sun ?) it also looks a nightmare to get in and out of (no obvious steps/ladder and water level was low from the top). Ok, i'm just picking on the pool, but thats supposed to be the main selling point right ? at 5,900 a night in High Season I personally wouldn't bother....but i've not stayed there, so if you do go, write a fair report.

Meatywsg, As per this web information, This construction is fairly new. And if you look once again on two pictures of the pool, one which is showing gate to go out, between the two sides, middle wooden platform where one can get into pool.Next picture shows it clearly, you can see steps as well, yes it is a small pool just to have fun bathe only. Plus point is, you have a private Jacuzzi, and you can see beach from Bed room. Probably I will go and stay there at least for a day or two. I have a plan in July.

Siam Beach Resort on Lonely Beach - I have checked out their condominium projects (still being built... and built... and built...) and had the chance to check out their various villas. Three major points that drove me away: - Extremely shabby maintenance of the grounds. - a moat of standing water surrounding the villas - sewer smells and mosquitos from the moat Notice how in some of the pictures you can barely see this moat, albeit they are doing a swell job trying to not show it. I would have shown an interest in the condominiums, if only Siam Beach Resort would have demonstrated better maintenance of their grounds (the condos are a SBR project). I can probably dig up some of my pictures from 16 months ago, if you want. While the pictures look nice, the 3,900 Baht a night are a bit rich for what you invariably get - particularly since you will absolutely need a rental car to get around (no, trust me, do not rent any motocy if you value staying unbroken).

Here's some reviews from tripadvisor, usally a good barometer of what to expect - please notice particularly the review of the "Pool Villa" http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g580110-d638070-Reviews-Siam_Beach_Resort-Koh_Chang_Trat_Province.html These are all recent, 2011. ---- Pool Villa = Shower with no cold water, Bathtub that has clean water, until you turn on the jets which quickly turns the water muddy brown. Outside shower with no shower head (aka hose). Simply put, you need to take a bar of soap and head to the beach if you need a bath or shower?? Airconditioner.....broken?? The private pool tiles were yellow and the water had not been cleaned for a very, very long time so you could not use it?? ---- “Do not go there, even if you think it might be ok!!!!!” Date of review: Apr 11, 2011 We had booked a pool villa for three nights but we left already after one night. We booked the pool villa straight on the beach with private swimming pool and jacuzzi. On the internet it looks very nice, in real life you will be very disappointed. Everything they show on the internet photo's is there, but ít's all very bad! The villa''s are dirty, the pool is dirty, the jacuzzi is dirty. The whole villa is kind of run down and doesn't appear to be looked after very well. All the furniture look like they have bought that on a second hand market. The bed is horrible, you are actually better off sleeping on the floor. It is a shame because the location of the pool villa's is lovely, the beach and sea in front of it were the only good fhings about this place. By the way you don't have your own private beach, even though they claim so on their website. The resort is a backpacker resort and you don't get the facilities that you expect for the money that you pay for the pool villa. The staff don't appear to be very interested in you being there. After one night we already checked out. The positive thing was that the resort was very flexible in giving our money back. That is the only positive thing to be said about this resort. The area of lonely beach is very filthy and full of rubbish. We didn't like it at all. Room Tip: Don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ---- “Dump” Date of review: Feb 28, 2011 This place was a joke. I spent 12,000 baht for a 2 night stay in one of the pool villa's. The bed was terrible, the in room jacuzzi could only be filled with straight hot water, the fridge didn't work, the toilet, shower and jucuzzi were all visible from the road (no curtains), the air con barely worked, the breakfast was the disgusting, and overall very poor service. I would suggest to everyone to stay away. Disgruntled customer

BK,Thanks. Yes this looks very good. My problem is. I get confused and cannot decide, unless person like you guide me.All are so good, and difficult to choose. Again, unless I go there and stay, I wont know. To explore entire Koh chang accommodation resort/beach bungalow, I need a truck load of fund, and 2 calender year.

Bimlee, yeah it's a tough choice given the limitation of resources. You just have try it out. Anyway, I've stayed there and the room was great, it has a jacuzzi attached to the room with a view of the inland. Ultimately, it's the company you have with you that makes it a great trip for you.

It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want a villa type experience, with private pool, that's a toss up. Personally, I stayed at KC Grande - the sea view *building* (not the villas), which are great rooms, and they all have jacuzzis on the balcony. Their internet sucked, but the room (3rd floor) was nice, though a bit pricey at 5,500 Baht (high season, as I recall). I also stayed at Sang Arum Bungalows -- right behind the Beach Tango Café. They have individual, brand new rooms for about 1,000 Baht; the bungalows are about 1,200 Baht. Neither are super-duper luxury, but they are right on the beach, right next to a great café, and you wake up to an awesome sunrise on a great beach every morning. It really all depends on what you are looking for - personally, if I'm going on an island vacation, I don't need nor want 4-5 star luxury accommodations, particularly when I plan to hang out at the beach all day, or drive around exploring the rest of the island. That's just me - Your mileage may vary.
