OK. Let's talk about the rest of Chiang-Mai. Bo-ring. Nice place to live, bad place to be a tourist. Only the thieving tuk-tuk drivers (and those funky pickup trucks) to ferry you around, and the same variety of temples to walk around for 5 minutes at a time. Oh, and the farang. Christ. There seem to be more farang in Chiang Mai than Thai - at least there were in the area I hit first. (of course, that area just *happened* to be the biggest cluster of numbers on the Lonely Planet map, but these f*ckers looked like expats). Lots of fat farang women. Humorous to see them hanging around in places called "butterfly bar" in the afternoon before the girls show up.
Which they don't seem to, until much later than Bangkok.
The area near the night market looks a lot like Asoke Plaza. Maybe 10 bars. Mosty empty at 8pm, what was there scored 1-4/10 at best. Always amusing when a greeter will follow me to try and grab my arm - this one followed me for the length of the bar before giving up.
Loi Kroh road appears to be another concentration of activity. I definitely get the impression that the girls in the p4p scene in Chiang Mai (well, the beer bars) are those that couldn't make it in Bangkok. Older, fatter (nearly everyone I saw had a gut). And of course, stretch marks from pregnancy. The exception seems to be the gogos. On the street that breaks Loi Kroh from Ratchamanka, there's a gogo on the loi kroh side called Black and White. Nice looking girls in there. The blacklights are a nice change from that pit Star XIX.
I'm headed to Moon Muang road next.
As it has been said before - don't go to Chiang Mai for p4p. But what else is there?

I see that there is alot of talk about the Chiang Mai Hill Hotel. It seems to be right next door to the Phrucome hotel, and massage.
Has anyone tried the Phrucome massage ? Would it be as good or better than the other soapies I have been to there (ex - sayurai, Pandoras)
I always, by the way, rent a motorbike, to avoid the blasted Tuk Tuks!
My favorite GOGO is John's place.

Bah. As it turns out, Moon Muang road *was* the road that separates Loi Kro from Ratchamanka. God forbid they should put both street names on intersections.
Also, that "Black and White" place was Spotlight. Not sure where the hell I got black and white.
Now then. I finally hung around until a bit later last night (00:30), and found the appearance of the girls to go up slightly. Still lots of girls with guts - but newly arrived were the clusters of girls that were actually attractive.
Problem - they didn't act like bg's. In one place, I was ignored by all but one of the girls in one of these clusters. That one smiled back, and then midway through, her smile turned to a disinterested/irritated frown/smirk. Not a good look. I wrote that off as one bad apple, until the next bar (This was at Lucky Bar, on Moon Muang, near Loi Kroh)
Back at Butterfly, there was finally a nice cluster of 7-8's hanging around the front. Repeated smiles and eye contact finally got one to come over and grab me when I wasn't looking - but then she returned to the table with her friends. No more came over.
One girl, not from the table, finally shows up. But she's chubby and ugly. My disinterest finally gets her to leave.
At this point, I was wondering if the bar wasn't functioning as mixed use - and these girls were not professionals out for a buck. Then one of them came up to order something, and I asked her where she worked? Answer: the bar. When asked why, despite my obvious interest in them, they/she didn't come over, she didn't have an answer; just blushed, and hung out with me from there.
OK, so a bit weird. I expect BGs to be all over me - clean, reasonably well dressed, and of course, I look like I'll pay. These were not.
Play some pool, hang around, it's time to talk price. I ask about barfine, and she says she has a boyfriend and doesn't go with customers. WTF?! I suppose that explains the lack of bangkok-style interest in me.
She says she'll find me a girl that will go back to the hotel with me. And of course, she only turns up a chubby, non-looker. I went home alone.
F*cking Chiang Mai. 3 days until I return to Bangkok.
Maybe I'll grab a girl from Spotlite tonite.

Man, you are having the worst luck in CM.
I did encounted this as well however. I went into a bar, alone one night. ordered a coke, and NOT ONE girl came over. after 15 minutes, I left.
I then went over to LINDAS bar, and was immediatly accosted by several cute ones. This is where I usually go, apart from John's place gogo.
Chiang Mai girls are not as forward as Bkk girls -TRUE, however, there are still alot of great choices there. I have found that its best to go into the bars with a few buddies. This usually creates a more fun atmosphere that the girls are attracted to.
Or just start talking to a few other guys sitting there also.

Been going to Chiang Mai for about 9 years now, yes have/had a GF up there. The golf is ok, but unless you like shopping and touristy stuff, it's a waste of time. Also many questions about girl friendly hotels on this post. Most of the more 3-4 star hotels and up, certainly not. And no to the Princess Hotel (one of the more expensive up there). As soon as you get by the elevator and into the room, the manager will come and ask you to go to the reception right away and pay (can't remember the price), yes even if you booked a double room, they don't care. This was the Imperial. Unless you like being bored, maybe a little moutain scenery, or a short break from BKK, I would avoid it at all costs. Hotels are a little cheaper, but the bar scene and even the MP's are rip off's and selection is extremely poor. Would rate them as 3 the best, unless you get lucky and might find a 5. Star Six? you've got to be kidding, that's one of the worst, and blue moon? even more worse! can only say been there once and never again. Pandora's? total rip, and girls with severe attitudes, doesn't seem to matter how much money you take out of you flaunt. Don't expect two pops at any of the MP's, Managers make it quite clear, one and only one. Try and tip them 500 to 1000K, they'll still say one and one only. Sayuri ok, run down, but the price changes everytime you walk in, A/C's never work, and their more intersted in taking care of the thier Thai customers who pay about 700 baht while the filang price varies from 1500 - 1800. Place is a bit run down and I couldn't even recommend a time as selection is not only so-so, but extemely limited and the girls are so tired there's not much effort. Alot of times I've walked in, many different times of the day/night, and there's maybe (3) in the fishbowl ??? I'm sure Thaksin took care of this place also and probably don't open till 6 and I always found the girls with better attitudes, or should say effort, before 6 (they used to have a lunch time special, but I'm sure that's over with) Take your clubs and play golf cause that's about all there is up there and even that is limited. Avoid the bamboo bars on the street next to the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel (again most girl unfriendly and staff pretty rude) as I have been to too many Thai funerals up there all becuase of aids from this street. I think I've done the rounds regarding Chiang Mai, 9 years worth. Maybe a good place to retire too, but I have a hard time spending 5 minutes in the surrounding areas of Chiang Mai and an hour is to much in Chiang Mai without going nuts and wishing I was in a MP in Bangkok or better yet in a Phuket bar, unless of course you're on a golf course and enjoy following a 6 some of Koreans playing golf that won't let you thru. Just a suggestion to this post, but my recommendation unless you're with your actual wife, avoid it completely. Took a friend a few years back up there and he could not believe how rude everyone was, he will only laugh if you bring up the words Chiang Mai. Bro's -----------------take my word.....BORING!!!!!! Go to Pattaya, Phuket, or even Hua Hin is much better......

Been avoiding Linda's lately. That was the place I hit first - chatted up a nice looking girl, then decided I didn't like her so much (stretch marks). Of course, that didn't stop her from coming out and trying to pull me in the next few nights.
Methinks it's time to get over my aversion to returning, though. She'll lose face, but I'm bored as hell.

Boy howdy, that sh*t-eating grin the tuk-tuk drivers give you is irritating. "Maybe you'll find out what lies behind that famous Thai smile." (tourist poster) I have. It's a desire for farang money, and the idea that maybe the smile will part it from them.
Almost picked up a girl from Sabai Cafe (on loi kroh) last night. I let her pull me in, just because she was such a train wreck. Had the white face paint on over some acne. Cute, but had that sickly-sweet cuteness thing going on. And of course, this is Chiang Mai, so she had a bit of a gut. That weird personality was what got to me. I finally declined after she started talking about leaving at 6am for a bus trip (I wanted LT, I didn't want her waking me up ay 5am)
Discussed prices were: 300bht barfine, 1000 ST, 2000 LT (asked) - I said that, in *bangkok*, I paid 1,500, so she said she'd make a special deal for me and let me pay that. 
Went on over to the Spotlite - "Black and White" is a picture up on the wall with two scotty dogs. Left when I started to nod off at the platform. (Didn't get any sleep that afternoon with the neighboring hotel room running their TV)

Recently, I went to Sayuri Complex in Chiang Mai for a soapy. It is pretty easy to find, from central ChiangMai, just cross the bridge and go less than a kilometer. Turn left and a few hundred meters up on the left will be a side-Soi. Turn left and go about 200 meters and you will see Sayuri Complex. It is too far to walk from the moat area. And they pay tuk-tuk drivers and then charge you more, so either rent a cheap moto to get there or have him drop you at the corner and then wait til he leaves before walking down the street toward Sayuri.
I went about 5:00pm. I walked in and there are a few hot karaoke girls at the door. Go up the stairs to the left, walk all the way to the back to find the fishbowl. I told the papasan "last time here, I paid 800 baht". He said it is now 900 baht. OK. There were about 25 girls in the fishbowl, a couple of them on the left were 1200 baht. There were about 6 guys sitting in chairs looking over the babes, all Asian. I looked over the girls and a very, very cute one caught my eye. She was small. I called for her.
She came out and smiled for the first time. The smile hardly left her face while I was with her. Nice. As in all MPs, the light in the fishbowl make the girls look like they have far too much makeup. Just a quick update on the Chiang Mai scene. I haven't seen it written up yet but there seems to be a new gogo in town. Opened about 3 months ago according to my intel. Called Foxey Lady. Near Chiang Inn.
Directions: If coming down Changklan Road with Chiang Inn Plaza on the right, take the soi immediately after the plaza. You'll see it as you're walking up. If coming down Loi Kroh towards the river, you'll come to a cross soi just before you reach Changklan Rd that has a sign "<== Chiang Inn." Walk down that soi and the Foxey Lady will be on the left.
Excellent group of ladies there. Some real hotties and generally pretty good attitudes. Nice mamasan too. Definetly worth a look and an excellent addition to the Chiang Mai nightlife scene.
Wow! 5 gogos in Chiang Mai now.
