yes, I've been there once, it sucks IMHO
you can't take the gals out of place, instead have to wait for them to get off work at 1am or maybe later
not far from there is Chiang Mai land with many karaokes with better looking women and better take-home policies
look out for Kodomo karaoke in CM Land however, they want 4k for LT, a bit steep

Chiang Mai university actually has an on site accomadation available for about $20 a night.
