Rayong beach itself pretty crap, but the town OK, some good MPs and nightclubs, as to the better beaches in the province, you need to head out a little, past Ban Phae, the crossing point to Koh Samet, Suan Son the next beach, is OK, and laem mai Pim also nice, but nothing there other than a Novotel, - Thais get to these areas on weekends, dead -

Agree with TPE. Some nightlife in town. The beach is not that nice. I do prefer to keep the ride and hit other seaside places....

The beaches just past Rayong are not so bad, when you compare the place to Hua Hin and Cha Am then it is by far the winner, in my opinion. But there are probably better places as mentioned, but I have not been ther yet. I mean as far as close to Bkk for an easy 2/3 hour drive.
