ps02, like cmore mentioned there is already a thread on Chiang Mai. This thread altough does not give a lot of info. If you could be a bit more specific I will guide you in this "rose of the north". For example do you prefer the bar scene, the MP's or maybe both. What kind of hotel are you looking for and what are you willing to spend on accomodation.

yes,I agree with you that there are no more specific info.Certainly,I want you as a guide.really I like bar,mp and other night life scene.I would prefer hotel and not more then 1000 bht.if you inform me about all so I will be obliged.

There are plenty Hotels below the 1000 Baht level in Chiang Mai. Try this website:

The Montri Hotel for example is close to the bar scene, with Spotlight gogo bar, John's Place (a gogo as well) and all the bars at Loi Kroh road, all walking distance. Further down Loi Kroh you can find Star Six a gogo. This one does not cater so much on foreigners (the management does nor but the girls do). An alternative could be the Porn Ping Hotel with its Bubble disco in the basement. This hotel is close to the nightbazar. Also quite a lot of bars in this area but not like Loi Kroh road, still lots of pick up opertunities. The Bubble disco also fills with TG around midnight and closes at 2.
There are about 6-7 MP's in town. Pandora is very often over rated in MHO. Sayuri is great value for money. I have paid as little as 700 for all the works. Small room, but if you want a bigger room jusk ask and pay additional, not sure how much but you will have change from 1K. Then there is the MP in the Phucome hotel, a little out of down town direction Doi Suthep mountain, not always as much choice, but sometimes stunners, 800 Baht. Then there is the Chiang Mai Hills MP, quite small but lovely girls, again you will have change from 1K.
There are very nice restaurants at the Ping river, like the River Side and the Good View where a pick up is defenitely not out of the question.

Just keep in mind that the MP's are not the same level of accomodations like in Bangkok. As well as I found that in general, the females are not as good looking as in Bangkok either.
Was not completely dissappointed with ChaingMai, but was not overly impressed either. The cultural sites are cool though.
They are have some very good bars to hang out at and listen to live music.

The wife and I stayed at the Porn Ping, didn't get to go solo too many times but there is a Disco judt to the left as you evit the hotel, rooms were great and the night bazaar is about 200 meters to the left as you exit. all in all, a great location. I would recommend it.
