As other fellows have mentioned previously in this forum they haven't encountered the beautiful Chiang-Mai-dream-girls while actually having stayed in Chiang Mai. As from my own experience, and I have travelled all over the country plus visited several MPs and clubs while doing so, let me tell you this: For the selection of girls one better stays in Bangkok. There you will get to know girls from all parts of the country - and in most cases their looks are fine. I only met few girls from Chiang Mai while having stayed in Chiang Mai. Most of the girls I have been going out with there were either from Jsan or Burma. At an MP in Phuket, on the other hand, I met lots of girls from Rayong, while at another MP in Korat I was taken care of by girls from the south of Thailand. Only in Bangkok I really came across the white-coloured northern girls plus some girls from the central area of Thailand. Here is an explanation I once got from an MP-girl: When visiting an MP one usually doesn't meet many local workers. They are afraid that they are being recognized by neighbours, friends or others. So that's the reason why most of the mp-girls usually work at places far away from home. So next time, if you fancy a northern girl, go the south - or vice-versa of course!

Just spent my first couple of days in CM and for me it is mostly work with the companies I cooperate with here. The town is an interesting experience and very different from BKK or elsewhere. Would not say I dislike it - but I certainly need a lot more info and experience to fully enjoy it! Have decided to lay low on the P4P this week and this along with the general price-level here almost make your wallet untouched! Everything is a lot cheaper and I also find the general scene more honest.
If the visit is for meeting TG - then I would agree on other postings - forget it! Boring to say the least. Have scouted the area around the so-called action districts and the standard for beerbars is so low that it I can not really understand how anyone could be interested in it. The go-gos are sleepovers and mostly I found myself being irritated over all these young backpackers hanging everywhere and being super-cheap-charlies. Saw a couple leaving 15 bath (wow!!) on a restaurant to the poor waiter!! That behaviour makes me almost wanna step up and throw a few punches.... spolied asshole farangs!! Also I am almost amazed seeing what the McDonalds generation looks like these days! Young people in their 20īs to 30īs and all are FAT and with no shape to their bodies! What will they look like as they get older!! They sure like hippos compared with the slim Thais.
The only place that was anything to hang out for a little while is Foxy Lady at Thapae road soi 1. It is not so big but seem to be wellmanaged and has the only ladies worth spending a glare. Drinks are cheaper than BKK and PTTY and it is not pushy at all. Sit with a girl if you want, otherwise not. AC is nice in here as the temp has been quite high.
And again - I really cant understand how all these hole-in-the-wall-shit-beerbars you can see everywhere can really survive?! Are they all owned by layover expats as someone told me?? Gosh - they cant live a very rich life then - poor sods!
In conclusion: CM is definitely worth visiting - I will back again - but not if you are out for the naughty scene! Bring a nice companion with you here and I am sure you will enjoy it!
And kids: quit burgers and pizza and start to excercise!!
Finally - if Royal Princess is supposed to be one of the better hotels here - I am worried! Worn, torn and really in line for a big rennovation project! This is not the standard I want and it makes me wonder what the places look like that are below this. For me THIS is the lowest level I am ever to accept!

While I would agree that Chiang Mai is pretty bad for the p4p scene but the longer i'm here the more I like the chances of meeting regular TG. If you go near CMU there's a lot of small student pubs, it's nice to hang out at Monkey Club or Drunken Flower too and there were some absolutely stunning regular TG in monkey club on a friday night. If you don't look like an obvious farang sex fiend then a student pickup is a possibility or maybe it's still a possibility if your thai negotiation skills are good  . I recently met a couple regular girls this way but then again i'm in the post-college age bracket (27) and i'm not farang.
You could also try Chiang Mai land rd where there are some Thai venues. I briefly walked along the road and checked out the girls sitting in front of the Karaokes. Definitely some lookers but it was early so I didn't bother checking it out in depth. If you do go to Chiang Mai land rd keep a low profile since it's known for being farang unfriendly.

15 baht? Those must have been the generous ones. Since i've been here i've seen many leave nothing.
Aside from the above there's always Sayuri, the massage oasis of last resort. I had a brief bad spell with 2 starfishes but since then i've had no issues and good service.
