Hi you all!
I was lucky enough to get quick trip to LOS and was planning to go to Samui. Last time I was in Phuket and I liked that quite much, enough activities there for everything. How is Samui compared to Phuket? What im looking for is nice beaches for daytime and enough activities for night-time. I have run through this forum among other places, but theres only one week to plan so I hope to get some advice on this.
I got little scared about that some say its better to bring companion from bkk. Whats the situation in Samui compared to Phuket on this area? Patong was enough busy for me so what is active place in Samui? Sure there has to be bars, massage etc. but hows the quality and quantity?

Try Samui if you've seen Phuket. More laid back than Phuket... smaller in scale...
Enough girls though..... at Lamai and Chaweng.

Samui is my favorate place in Thailand stay in the Galaxy in lamai 1500thb large air-con bungalow walk in rate free internet (without breakfast) Have breakfast in the "Winston Churchill" across the road fantastic coffee the best I've had in LOS. Go to the main bar area at night many many good choises of lady's to keep you company. Don't forget the Thai Lady Boxing on a saturday night. What a laugh (bet on Sa from Mama's bar if you get the chance)
The best beaches in Thailand IMHO laid back place and why can't I live there.
Stay away from Chawang as it's to busy and a ripoff.

Hi ChiDao,
as the others say Samui is definitly more laid back than Phuket, and definitly worth a visit. There are enough cuties in Samui, so no need to bring your own.
I would suggest trying both Chaweng and Lamai, and if one is not to your liking then they are only about 30 mins taxi ride away.
I stayed in a detached, traditional, brand new bungalow in Samui, very nice, about 1800 bht per night. The place is called Long Beach Lodge and is girl friendly. It is opposite McDonalds.

Think I give both Lamai and Chawang a try. Can you give any tips for bungalows around 1000 baht there?
Next prices I found in Galaxy website and they are low season already. Place looks great though!

Chi, I payed 1500thb for the Thai style bungalow as a walk in rate in May. So you may want to just try turning up and trying your negotionation skill's.
Is a very nice place though little bridge over a fish pond at the entrance and a few peacocks in large cage on the lawn.
Trieu, not in the way they are in BKK to my knowage you may get a rub'n'tug at one of the many shop style massage joints that line the steet but I think you'll be hard pushed to find a Chewit style establishment.

Try Chaweng Garden (1000 baht), P&P Resort, or Samui Coral Resort. Great location, across from Soi Green Mango and Burger King. No need to bring companion from BKK.

I agree with you on the Sat night boxing, what a great atmosphere.
Weekender resort in Lamai is GF and very central, worth a stay but 1,500+.
Difficult to butterfly in Lamai, the TGs don't miss a thing, and only the one main drag really.

Agree with you there on the butterflying, but I got very lucky and found a "keeper" on my 2nd night. Anything I wanted anytime I wanted. Also she let her younger sister (21) share the love for 2 nights. (God I love those girls)
