I was here about two years ago, but have just found this forum so here goes.
The hotel is very nice 4 to 5 star, and reasonably priced, I paid 1500 per night and I know they have deals for weekend for folks who wish to travel upcountry.
Now the reason for the post is that there are 3 bars in the basement with elevator service in the basement so no passing of the desk or security.
There is a brew house with various types of draft beer and a disco for those inclined, but further on I discovered....
Cleos a karaoke establishment, and yes I know you are asking yourself why would I go into a karaoke establishment. I asked myself the same question, however all of the ladies were nicely attired in long evening gowns or other suitable sexy wear, so I went in. The place was nicely done and the ladies looked good - remember many of your favorite lasses in Bangkok come from this area. Anyway had a few drinks and talking to the ladies and after a while they are asking me if I want to do the private room for karaoke.
Well my question was why. I admit I had only been here about 2 years at that point and I did not know any better, but....
The answer I received was - because we sing naked in the private rooms.
Well let me tell you I signed up 3 ladies and off we went, I believe I paid 500 baht for the room for an hour and possibly 500 baht for each of the ladies, however my memory is hazy. Drinks were procured and off we went.
Anyway the girls all proceede to sing, no it was not required for me to sing, while disrobing. I was free to play and dance with the girls in various stages of undress. I could assist in the disrobing to some degree and I made myself useful. Plenty of gropes and feels were had by all.
I proceeded to select two of the three and we headed upstairs for an evening of sanuk. Which as I have mentioned is easy as the elevator stops on the basement floor. I gave each of the girls 1000 the next day ass I was returning the following night.
The food at the hotel is excellent, and there are several beer bars not far away. I have been told that a MP is also not located that far from the hotel, but I was unable to find it on that occasion.
If any of the brothers know of this MP I would appreciate knowing as I intend to go back.

i didn't know that the karaoke there is that promising! i definetely have to try it next time when i am there! did you try the disco in the sofitel! same concept like cm2 in bangkok but much cheaper freelancers!
anyway khon kaen for me is the best sanuk city in thailand besides bkk!

Khon Kaen is great, the karaoke has been there for quite a while but unfortunately I have never had the pleasure to visit. The disco is indeed very nice, the management was not shy to invest in this establishment. Very true a lot of the TG's that you meet in Bangkok come from this area. IMHO hunting here can be a bit of a challange but that makes it more fun and rewarding.
As far as I know there are three MP's in Khon Kaen. I will try to discribe how to get there. If you keave the Sofitel, turn right in direction Kosa Hotel, head for the main entrance, don't go in but keep left, about twenty meters on the left from this main entrance you turn right into a small alley and there is the first.
The second, again turn right coming out of the Sofitel, near the Kosa hotel keep left and head for the main road. Turn right anf you will pass I think a Bangkok Bank on your right. Stay on the main road and proceed. I think at the second intersection with traffic lights you take a left. On your left hand there is a big school complex and on your right there is the Khon Kaen busstation. When you get lost ask for this bus station, everybody nows. With the school on your left and the bus sation on your right you will reach an intersection with trafficlights. On the right hand corner of this intersection there is an MP. Last time when I passed it was under renovation or closed. Maybe some of the other brothers know the latest.
The third that I know of: again from the Sofitel turn right, at the Kosa keep left head for the main road and go right on this main road. Keep going a few intersections until you will see on your right an electronics shop and oposite I think the Siam Commercial Bank. Just before this bank is a little soi to the left and there is a neon sign, cant miss it. Brothers most places I have not visited for quite a while so I am not sure how up to date I am here.
One other, not really a soapy but more a traditional or oil massage place where a lot is possible. You will find it in the I think Royal Princess Hotel. From the Sofitel again right, to the Kosa, head for the main entrance, and pass it, you will then pass the Kosa MP but keep going. You have to go up some steps, stairs (outside) and you will be on the parking lot of the Royal Princess, Keep going under some building (kind of a tunnel) and turn right and take the stairs up to the lobby. Walk straight to the desk and pass it on the right. Through the door out into the parking building ad on your right you will see the MP. No stunners but good fun. Once had a kind of Baron experience in there. Happy Khon Kaen fellows!!!!

.....The Charoen Thani hotel has a small massage parlour as well - at least it did 2.5 years ago.
Didn't partake as selection was poor.
I have since heard reports that the place to go is the Sofitel Entertainment Complex - will check it out in Jan 2003 when next in Khon Kaen.

just came back from a weekend trip to khon kaen. stayed in the sofitel hotel and can fully stress hin's remarks concerning the karaoke downstairs in the hotel. very nice ladys at a very reasonable price.
lady drink every 45 minutes at thb 125. take out fee thb 600 all go out if demanded nice quality girls not that spoiled like in bkk!
other places to go in khon kaen are the zeed disco and the zolid both are tecno style with tons of students from the nearby universities. girls will approach you very easily as they try to perform their english skills on you. if you want to feel like a movie star or like thailand was about some 10-20 years ago khon kaen is a nice treat!
albeit most girls will be good girls and hardly available on the first night out, so one does need some patience on that!
easy flights from bkk 4 times a day at thb 3,200 return!
price for a juniour suite in the sofitel including promotion or corporate discount is thb 2,200 netnet including breakfast buffet. extremly guest friendly hotel!!!

Thruster, the small MP is still there, yep not the best looking place and not the best looking girls. Went in there last week for an oily, no 25, I think her name was Ee. Well the massage was great, damm she turned me on. Not the best looking but shit her service made up for that. Her massage would not be shy from Baron quality. Damage, 500 baht for two hours oil and 1 K for her, she deserved it.
About the Sofitel, Griffin you are right a very nice place indeed, have heard a lot about the karaoke at the basement and all confirm your remarks.
Brothers there is more than Bangkok in Thailand, you won't get it served on a plate, but the challange can be very rewarding.

thon princess is actually only 1000 baht now and 1200 including joiner fee!........students are easy pickings, i always nab two, and f_ck what they will do!......remember this is thailands poorest area, place rocks, and its cheap as, live it up boys, try the place.!
