Last October a group of us went to Koh Chang for a few days. We each took our Teelaks and were preparing for a really enjoyable time. This is one beautiful island with a really mellow feel and a lot of waterfalls and such to explore. I was thinking that this would be the perfect romantic place to spend some quiet quality time with my Teelak. Well as it turns out that wasnt meant to be..not for me anyway. Things that had been teetering finally fell over and my Teelak and I were through.
I gave her the walking papers and the walking Baht she had coming to her and enough additional to pay for a limo ride back to Pattaya if she desired.
Now what? I am the only one of the group that is alone on a paradise island. The group all goes out with me to the area that I believe is called White Beach...or White Sands or such. Anyhow this is the place that appeared to have the largest cluster of BBs. With the support of all of my friends I begin the search for my new number one Teelak.
After viewing the offerings at various bars I finally settled on one on the far left end. It is called Mankeyto....WTF is that name all about? I asked the mama about the name of a song that they were playing that I thought was funny. She directs me to her husband the owner. his name is Barry. A Yank from New Jersey who has been living here for a while and has the most lively bar on this whole beach.
After a bit of a chat I asked him what the name Mankeyto means...he informs me that it is way his wife used to pronounce Mosquito....AAAahhhh! I get it...that weird little graphic on the sign is apparently a mosquito...
I chatted with Barry for a bit and he even got the entire staff to all pose together for a group picture. I thought that was nice of him. Well I finally select my new Teelak for the evening. She is a wild/naughty little thing who is grinding on my gonads with glee. She cant speak a frikkin word of English but is definitely cute.
I tell Barry that I will take this one...I pay my tab and the BF for the lady. As I am doing this I notice that she goes to a table where her friends are and pours herself a double shot of Sang Som. I think nothing of it and we head next door to another bar where most of my friends are hanging out. This girl almost immediately craters...I mean she turns into a blob of soft clay. As that last shot of SS hits her she is melting down fast. She is hanging on the other Isaan ladies that are there and babbling drunken crap in their ears....clearly annoyed that she is collapsing on them I drag her off...apologize to them on her behalf and tell her we should go back to her bar...I half carry her there and sit her on a stool and grab one of her friends and have her pin her to the wall as she will certainly fall.
I immediately assume that I have lost my barfine money but feel I should inform Barry that I am returning this lady and they need to look after her. He sees her in the corner completely out of it at this point being held up by two friends.
Without hesitation Barry asks me if I would like to choose another girl to use the barfine payment towards or would I prefer a refund as it was obvious this girl was completely useless.
Refund? WTF??
I have never heard that word used in LOS before except by Falang who hab no clue. I tell him that I would like a refund as I think I have my eye on another cutey I see at the bar next door. He tells his wife to refund my barfine and she looks at him with a slight look of What does that word mean mixed with I dont think I heard you right. 55555 Typical response to the word. He then raises his voice very slightly and that was it....she hands over the money without any issue.
I sat around a bit chatting more with Barry and discover that this young lady is a close family friend or relative of his wifes who has just came down from the rice farm just a couple weeks before. Apparently she hadnt gone with many Falang before and was bracing herself for her night with me by guzzling a bit more booze.
I thanked Barry for being so cool about it and went on my way. I found a sober Teelak next door and had a couple of nice days with her before heading out.
I think I can safely recommend Mankeyto bar to anyone heading to KC....nice lively bar that will treat you right if my experience is any indication.

Now that's good business sense. Barry knew that if you didn't get back the barfine, then you'd either talk shit about the bar or, at the least, not recommend it to anyone.
Good for him.
A trip to Koh Chang next October with a big, fat, sweaty Yank is on the tablets. We'll drop by the mosquito bar for sure.

Refunds do happen on occasion. I got a similar offer, barfine back or take a different lady, from Hollywood in Nana before.

Thanks for the report Cyborg, and dont be too suprised to get a barfine refund, I got this a few time allready, if problem happens with a girl what you have to do is to have balls and CLAIM to the bar, not angryly but making clear you wont leave the place without your money, it work most of the time if you go immediatly, but dont go the following day LOL
By the way...how was the second girl?

The second girl was actually quite nice. She wasnt what I considered to be much of a looker but as usual had the hot little body common with TGs.
I made it clear to her that my number one regular I had came to the koh with and I had parted ways and that I was in need of a sweet Teelak to take care me good. She took care of me just fine.....

Whilst there are some half decent looking bar girls on Koh Chang there are not many and are soon gone.I am constantly amazed by good looking young guys taking women I wouldn't even consider and I'm mid fifties. In most cases I would rather go without.Choice in Pattaya is 100% better.
