I have looked around and tried to find a good hotel in Hua Hin to stay for a couple of weeks next month. Want a good standard and preferably near beach but also close to town for evening activities. GF is travelling with me so I am not searching for "such" activites. Just a nice hotel and am greatful for any tips!

I've stayed here, great location.

I would suggest that you not book and pay for the whole stay; you can check out and find a new place just in case you find something you don't like about the hotel.

Maybe because 2 weeks is a long time to stay in Hua Hin?

Hilton and Sofitel are the most comfortable places in town. And I would stay in the town, not a few km out where some of the other resorts are.

Correct. I would even consider 2 weeks in Pattaya a long time.

Hua Hin is a typical weekend resort... at night there is some entertainment but quite limited.

Furthermore, I don't know if your GF is Thai... but if so it's pretty difficult to keep her span of interest for such a long time...

You could combine Cha-Am with Hua Hin though.

If you're not into Hilton- ("what town is this???") or Sofitel- (much nicer) like Mammoth there's always a nice little alternity... Like the Baan Bayan Hotel, much smaller, colonial style house, classy but affordable, very relaxed, nice rooms, excellent beach side location, not in the center but only a small tuk ride away (5 min.)

The travel expert says "Veranda Hua Hin", excellent location, right on the beach, very nice boutique hotel offering top quality services and cheaper rates than the Hilton or the Sofitel.
