Are there better options in terms of price-performance?
How easy is it to escape and are there fleshpots to escape to?

... Double Shot... stayed at Chiva Som several years ago... quite nice, but at that price point, I felt it lacking in areas important to me.
... I develop and invest in real estate, so I am particularly attuned to the 'hardware'... Chiva Som is nice, but they poured way too much concrete about the site, typical of Thai developers and designers... I would have preferred more greenscape than hardscape.
... the 'software' was good enough, if you are into holistic fringe treatments, worshipping moon beams, high-fiber gravel breakfasts, and such... beyond that, the spa itself is top tier...you can spend all day in there.
... as for fleshpots, Hua Hin is NOT the place for that... definately, definately not... Hua Hin is a family resort town, and home of the King's summer palace, so the flesh trade is strickly frowned upon... it is there, but a mere shadow of what is available elsewhere... Hua Hin is more about dining and lazing about, than night life, clubbing and chasing gurls.
... for premium spa resorts proximate to Thailand's fleshpots, Phuket is your best bet... then Bangkok... I think there is nothing in Pattaya approaching luxury resort spa at this level... Chiang Mai has a couple of very nice properties (Mandarine Oriental Dheva Dhari, Four Seasons, Chedi), but none of the more notorious fleshpots of Bangkok and Pattaya... same for Koh Samui (Four Seasons there is very nice).
... I am not a premium spa guy, so can't authoritatively advise on alternatives... if in your price point, Aman Puri Phuket is a clear winner... in Bangkok, the Mandarin Oriental's spa is perennially rated #1 in the world by Conde Nast (if you get close to Bangkok, it is worth doing a treatment there)... the guys at Six Senses have a premium resort brand that is done VERY well, but I am unsure if they have planted that flag in Phuket or Bangkok yet.
... Conde Nast's listings might be the most reliable resource.

Definetly no happy ending at Chiva Som!! Hua Hin has several beer bar areas and last time I was there had a Lolitas. So there is opportunity for alternative entertainment

I have just returned from Hua Hin and had a great time, OK there are no GoGos but there are plenty of Beer Bars with enough talent if you are prepared to look.
Many massage shops are not very secretive in the services they have available.
Also, I have never been myself but I understand that the Klang road (Canal) has lots of places worth a visit.
The Chiva Som is out of my price range, I would rather pay 600 for a room and spend the other on booze and birds, however, if I win the Lottery???
