My vague understanding is that there is some kind of a financial dispute going on between the owners of DD and the creators of the website. Apparently, the day-to-day manager has also left DD for some reason. The dispute has been playing out publicly on pattaya-addicts.com
But my understanding is that DD is still up and operating (although it recently introduced a closed on Sundays schedule).
I think the orphanage bit is a not too subtle comment as part of the spat.

Yeah, as usual, the folks involved in the dispute think that their web audience are idiots.
If they have control over the old website, enough control to post a "farewell", yet there it is.
