One thing you might want to consider for next time. If you run out of condoms, you can always call room service at pretty much any hotel in jakarta. howdy, I presume from your post you live in Jakarta?? I was thinking of going to either Manila or Jakarta for my next visa run. It is still some time away, end July, but I might make the effort and plan a little in advance this time, unlike most and organise it the day before.

I have been to Manila, many, many times. Love the Filipinas, but, the economic situation there is pretty shabby (And the Filipinos are so desperate, they RAISED prices). As a result, the nicer go-go bars in Manila, which on Burgos Street, are so overpriced, you can't stay long. Ladies' drinks are $US6, and the bar fines are usually 2500-3000 pesos ($US 50-60), plus tip. So, a night of bar-hopping runs well over $US100...double what you pay in BKK.
There are other places in Manila to go, for example EDSA which is cheaper, or even Angeles City (which is more along the lines of Pattaya Beach) located 2 hrs outside of Manila.
