Hi Brothers!
i've finally landed in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Well, what shall I tell you? It's cold, very dusty and dirty. So far i've been to couple of restaurants here where the expat community goes, but nothing much going on due to the security situation. The girls/women i've seen so far are your prototype UN, NGO etc. workers = let's save the world type. nothing to score there and not much to look at.
Other than that, we've got some electricity problems (cut off on a regular basis for 6 hours per day, water (same same!) etc.
There are shootings and explosions every second day somewhere in Kabul or the outer city limits. Military is present everywhere in Kabul. Sometimes I feel like it's a big get together of the world armed forces. They are very nervous due to the attacks in Iraq and therefore getting contact to them is very difficult. I saw couple of very cute (blond) british female-soldiers at the airport, but I guess those are no-no.
I haven't been outside of Kabul, but that's going to change within the next week (s), but only to Bagram and Jalalabad. Kandahar is chaos as I was informed and the US forces are taking heavy casulties there (2-3 KIA per day!!), wonder why it's not being covered in the press!! I got this info from UN people. In the north, Mazar I Sharif, once again the guys of the Northern Alliance are fighting each other and ISAF is trying to control that.
Will keep you updated on any p4p action here..but I guess it will take 50-60 years! LOL!

@drlove: I have a 4mbit satelite connection here and that is working ok (not perfect). USD 200.00 per month with 46MB upload and 466MB download (yeah..rip-off!)
