Warning: This is a long, sometimes boring, brain-dump field report written on the plane from Puerta Plata back to Amereka. I’m not responsible for anything I write here, I am drinking excessively while writing this. 
I had heard a few things about the Dominican Republic, so when I was away on business in the general geographic area, I decided to divert my return through Puerto Plata and hit a town called Sosua and check out the p4p scene. I flew in on an open return ticket, so I could leave whenever I wanted. This FR covers my 4 days in Sosua. I’ll write until my plane lands, then that’s what you will read. Keep in mind that this is written from the viewpoint of someone very familiar with the scene in Thailand, and is only my view. Different guys have different tastes, and I met some people who just love this place, so keep this in mind when reading this. All prices are in Dominican Republic pesos (RD), and the current exchange rate to the USD is 40/1. This made it very easy for me, because the RD is about equal in value to the Thai baht.
Landed POP airport, bought the required tourist card US$10, went through immigration, no requests for money not to inspect my bag (I’d heard this happens sometimes, walked past 1000 baggage and taxi touts to the bank in the airport, exchanged USD at 42/1, out to the taxi, 600RD fixed price to Sosua. Crazy driver.
I’d booked the Sosua Palace because I had read about it on the WSG website. Supposedly, the manager, John, takes newbies under his wing, gives them advice, recommends places to go, girls to take, etc. Also, I had read that mongers (that is “punters” what they are called there) always hang out there and exchange tips, go out together for dinner and mongering, etc. I did meet two guys (more on them later), but every time I came in, I asked the almost-sleeping girl behind the bar for John and he was never there. I had a two minute conversation with John when I left two days later to give him the 1000RD per night.
Another supposed advantage to the Palace is that there are girls hanging around there 24/7, available for blowjobs, screws, and any of your other sex needs. However, I come to find out these girls usually show up around noon, hang around til 8 or so, then go out to try to find customers elsewhere. They are never there in the morning or later at night. And the quality of these girls is average at best – and “average looking” for working girls in Sosua is a few notches below the quality of the average South Pattaya beer bar girl with many years work experience. I don’t want to diss these girls but I guess you have to tell it like it is – they’re not attractive (to me).
I go out and walk down Pedro Clisante, the main drag, and I come upon the Hotel Europa. I go in, see if rooms are available, they are - US$35/day, I book for day after tomorrow. I’ll stay at the Palace for two days, then move to the Europa. I walk across the street to the Domino Bar and sat down next to a very, very hot girl. 18 years old, perfect body, great face, lighter skin, speaks no English, no baby. 18yoHottie is the only p4p girl I met on the *entire* trip that had no baby. I look around and the other 10 girls here are a 4/10 at best. 18yoHottie is a 9. But 18yoHottie has a bit of an attitude, and really doesn’t seem into me. I think it’s also how most of the girls think about themselves, I think. This translates into a very, very hard scene here. It makes South Pattaya seem like Soi33.
Anyway, I go back to Domino Bar and see 18yoHottie, but she is with another customer, so I talk to a girl with a good body with very dark skin. She speaks no English. GoodBodyDarkSkin is one of about 15 girls hanging out in this bar, and she is the only one in the place (except 18yoHottie) that is screwable (to me). All the others are ugly, fat or just look way too hardened. This will be a common problem here for me all week, I have to sift through 15 girls that all want to go with me but I would not screw if they paid me! Well not exactly Soi33, as this place is in the middle of nowhere, no one speaks any English, all the girls have had babies, many are ugly and there is about 2 out of the 30 I would fu_ck if I were falling down drunk..

Epilogue:
Will I return? Maybe but probably not. The beach is beautiful, the diving and snorkeling are underrated (I didn’t write much about this because this board is about muff-diving, not scuba-diving). You don’t have to fly for 22 hours one-way and have a 11-hour time difference (i.e. jetlag) to endure. I don’t think I’ll come back for this scene, though. BTW, this was my first trip to a “p4p destination” that I did not have a business reason for going. I can always look at the pictures I took during the trip.
CGFutureWife#30 was great, but if she is still in the p4p scene in Sosua in two or three months, she will be hardened like almost all the rest of the girls. It is sad. Some BKK girls are hardened, but it takes a lot more time for that to happen. I think it is the culture.
Thailand vs. Dominican Republic: Well, I think you can guess where I lean. However, I will say this. Sometimes I read about some people’s first days in BKK and the “rough starts” they have had and I wonder. How can that happen to them? But then I think “they are a newbie, they do not know what is going on, they didn’t have someone to show them around, they don’t speak the language, etc” … maybe kind of like I was on this trip. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I will not comment anymore on physical beauty (I have also NEVER written about my views on “WG beauty” (western-girl beauty) vs. “TG beauty”). But the sweetness of the girls I have been with in Thailand completely blows anything I found on this trip. CGFutureWife#30 was great, but she was an oasis in a desert.

Have done the DR a few times for a few days and my opinion is equal. Not worth the trouble if you are used to Thailand and are coming for P4P.
Have some friends who go back like the most of us are running back to Thailand. Good that we spread out a bit!

Well, this reminds me about the reason I like Soi33 so much. These girls are working girls, and should get respect for the work they do.
One question, though, CG: Did you make this stop in DR after your latest trip to Bangkok (not getting enough girls), or is this some old material that has been stored away on your computer.

I could have told you you wouldn't like the girls in DR. Went to DR once Sosua in fact and agree with your view points.
The guy I was with kept saying look at all the hot girls but I found it hard to find many (or any) I liked. The attitude sucked and very hard core.
At the time I thought well this is OK I guess, but then that was before I had gone to Thailand. Don't really think I will ever go back to DR.
