Delicate ruling favours the hog London _ In one of their more delicate rulings of recent years, British television watchdogs ruled yesterday that a pig sexually pleasured on television by a minor celebrity did not feel degraded by the experience. Dozens of viewers complained about the episode in so-called reality television show The Farm, in which a series of celebrities were sent to do tough work with agricultural crops and animals. The audience were treated to the sight of Rebecca Loos, the self-proclaimed ex-lover of England football captain David Beckham, stimulating the boar for 10 minutes to produce a flask of semen. Many viewers complained to the government's Office of Communications (Ofcom) that this was ``akin to bestiality'', while a leading animal charity condemned the scenes as ``morbid and sordid''. But in a ruling released yesterday, Ofcom cleared broadcaster Channel Five of breaching decency standards, saying the procedure was perfectly normal. ``The task performed by Rebecca Loos is one that occurs regularly on UK farms. It was properly supervised by a qualified veterinary surgeon and was carried out for a genuine purpose _ to artificially inseminate the pigs on the `celebrity farm','' the ruling said. It added: ``We don't believe that the scene was degrading or harmful to the boar.''AFP Bangkok Post Just when you think TV has hit bottom, it find a new low.

The fact that these folks went out of their way to complain about a boar being pleasured, and claiming it was 'degrading or harmful' is entertainment by itself. Maybe they should send cameras along those kind of goody-two-shoes groups. "We don't believe that the scene was degrading or harmful to the boar" Classic! Harry

The Uk has been repressed for a long time (and arguably still is in many ways) But certain European laws in the late 90's started bringing the island into line - "morally" at least, now hardcoe videos are freely available in R18 shops, and there is serious discussion of reforming drinking and prostitution. Most of the existing laws date back to the early 20th century. Unbelievable !! There is without doubt a certin "liberalisation" of the Uk IMHO since good old TB swept to power in97 ( not necesarily as a result of this, but I think partly so). Things like a pig being being jerked off, the antics of big brother, I'm a celebrity, never mind the introduction of C5 in, hey, 1997, have meant UK TV at least has changed loads in less than 8 years considrably IMHO for the better. there is far more choice in viewing, and adressing of relevant and highly debatle and controversial issues. Of course there wil be people who argue this liberalism has meant a decline in standards. Maybe, but I'm sorry this world is not standing stil or in reverse gear. Only MHO Thanks.

Speaking as an old boar, I'm relieved. Given the proclivity of certain groups to take a court ruling and broaden its scope to others, this could have set a dangerous precedent: I'm sure a lot of P4P ladies look on their clients as old boars, difficult to get off.
