It is only 4 hours drive to Bahrain from Riyadh.
Providing your employer provides you with a multi exit re entry visa you can go there on the weekend.A lot fo the hotels and many of the bars have working girls although it is expensive at US 100 1 shot and not a great experience.It is about 600 riyals to fly to Dubai where the action is much better and cheaper.If you go to Bahrain or Dubai on a regular basis you will not save much money unless you are on mega bucks.I am going to Dubai next weekend and expect to spent around 1000 US for the weekend all up.
There is plenty of action in Riyadh with the nurses and the idea of a maid is good as plenty of my mates here shag their maids.There are Philipina working girls in Riyadh but hard to find although the Saudi's can organise them but better to steer clear of the Saudis.

Machine: Good point about Bahrain. Don't know why I didn't think of it as I have a multiple and go over often. The problem I have is my 10 year old daughter is with me so I don't think about hanky-panky when I go there. I do have some employees that go there regularly and even have one that has fallen in love with a Thai girl there. I know, I know, but what can I do?
One thing I don't understand is trying the maid route. Unless you have a compelling reason, you can't sponsor a maid here. The only way you can get a maid, legally, is to have a Saudi sponsor one. I have no wife so I have a reason but do not think MOFA will give her a visa in my name. I will have my government relations agent check this out and let you know.

For 3 day weekend, hop a flight to dubai. Plenty of action, only question is which hotels are guest friendly (I don't know).
For 5 days+, hop a flight to BKK. Saudia has a nice one, non-stop, from Riyadh to BKK that used to leave about 20:00 wednesday, gets into BKK Thursday morning (around 8am). OK, so no alcohol on the flight, but who cares. Grab some sleep if you can. Biggest problem is early check-in at a BKK hotel. I'd clean up, grab some more sleep, then, in early afternoon, hit Baron's, Annie's, or Biergarten-soi 7.

You do not need to sponsor a maid as there are plenty of freelancers around.Some are illegals and others have another job and do the maid caper for extra cash either way they are usually available.

I haven't found any in Jubail. I did have one of my employees marry an Eritrean maid however.
I am too straight laced when in Saudi. I don't even drink, as I might have to go to the police at any time to get somebody out of jail. I do not want to meet the police chief reeking of sidiqui!
I am virtually on call 24 hours daily so that limits what I feel I should do. I just play it straight and will never recommend that anybody do anything illegal or questionable. Since I don't have to sign to get you released from jail, do what makes you feel good.
Thailand is another story.

Dude you have my deepest sympathies, I have been working in Riyadh for almost 5 yrs and I am due for "parole" in a matter of days, leaving for good I am glad to say. This is truly the shithole to end all shitholes, the most obnoxiuos, lazy, ignorant race of people on the face of the planet. If you are coming here make sure the money is good and the leave situation is plentiful. R/T flight to BKK costs around $680 USD Saudia Airlines stopped their direct flight to BKK last Oct so now you have to go via somewhere, Dubai often a common choice trip takes about 12 - 14 hrs I used to go every 3 mths, Dubai is OK, nothing special, 1 hr 15 min flight about $400 USD R/T costly to drink there bottle of beer is about $5. Bahrain is another option only 3 hrs drive, similar price for beer. Local girl thing would be the nursing community, still quite a few western ex-pat nurses. US embassy used to do quite a few functions as did British Aerospace, not sure if this is the case now though. You mean those people are not easygoing and tolerant of other people's nationality, religion, and personal behavior as long as it does not effect anyone except for 2 consenting adults? Hard to believe - NOT. I did 2 years in KSA myself.
But they do provide one service - no matter where else you go, it will ALWAYS be better than KSA! Ship somebody to KSA for 3 months; after that, you can send them anywhere, and they'll be happy.
And one of the most enjoyable and satisfying sounds in the world is the sound of that exit stamp being chopped into your passport by saudi immigration as you leave - brought a smile to my face everytime.
Bad news about the loss of the direct saudia flight - that was 7 hours from hell to paradise. Money has to be great, and the R&R plentiful (every 3 months would be great, 4 months acceptable, 6 months too long).
