utterly rubbish!
no one is forced to take the first job offered! you can decline job offers for various reasons, one of them would be sexual harrassment.
as stated above this article is written by a woman. her aim was probably to get some headlines in a magazine about the poor women of this world.
you US guys should know that your media is very reliable on being unreliable! the latest half truth, half lies about iraq are a classic already!

Broken Leg,
As Mr. Alan correctly pointed out: This applies to men too!
Knowing that among the German sausage lovers are also some men would you be offering?

Once again Bleeding Heart Alan

God forbid she actually goes out and finds a job on her own during her alloted time allowed to suck off the government. You know, the normal way people get jobs...ON THEIR OWN.

This article is more about Germany allowing brothels to advertise in their job system, then it is ANYTHING about forced prostitution. This article is so slanted, that it does not even give ANY background on how the unemployment system in Germany actually works. Like how long she has been sucking off the government, and how much longer she can legally. Just a feminist bunch of shit.

I could not think of a better motivator to get people to find themselves a job.

It seem that Baquawn and Griffin like to shoot the messenger. Any dimwit could see that I merely cut and pasted the article from a news source on the web. It was published in several places, and was discussed on CNN TV. Don't blame me for the article, I didn’t write it.

However, what the article says is that, if someone has been receiving unemployment payments from the German government for 1 year or more, then they are required to accept the first job offered to them by the Job Centre, even if the job involves being a prostitute, or they will loose any further unemployment payments from the government.

Neither of you have presented any factual information to dispute that claim. The article itself cites several people (with names) who verified that it is the policy of the German government. Maybe you don't think that anyone deserves more than 1 year of unemployment benefits, but that is beside the point of the article.

So if you believe that the story is factually incorrect, please provide proof. If you don’t like the unemployment benefit laws of Germany that pays people for more than 1 year, then file your grievance with the government of Germany.

I am not an expert on German law, but I presume that it would only be sexual harassment if the brothel owner demanded sexual favors. But if one had a job as a prostitute receiving money from customers, that is not sexual harassment. Not even in the politically correct USA is that sexual harassment.

People want to be offended. "You made me call a brothel?" oh the humanity, I am so offended that I shall sue you now (very American). I am sure she was not forced to take the job.

Last year we saw Janet Jacksons nipple during the superbowl halftime show. Arrrgh, a nipple!!!! I hope I do not see one this year!!! Who can I sue?!?!?

Here is some satire for ya...

According to the article (which has not been factually refuted yet) she was forced to take the job as a prostitute or have her unemployment benefits cancelled.

According to article, she wanted to sue because she thought the Job Centre was violating the law by taking away her unemployment benefits for failing to accept a job as a prostitute. Sounds reasonable to me. But she was later informed by the government that there was nothing illegal about what the Job Centre did. If she did not accept the first job offered to her, even if the job was as a prostitute in a brothel, her benefits would be stopped (this rule applies to people who have been unemployed more than 1 year).

Is it that difficult to understand?
