everyone else - yes bali is indeed a stunning country, plenty to do, great diving as well as volcanoes, villages and so on. theres a famous village where theres a lot of balinese artists who paint pictures, u can buy them for good prices and they sell for higher prices in uk. I dont think it was ubud, thats the silver village if I remember.
definitely go to tanoh lot, when the tide is out theres loads of sea snakes sleeping in the rocks "guarding" the temple.
i guess u could compare kuta with patpong. so just like thailand theres plenty of other things and places to do and go as well as p4p, just avoid the overtly touristy places.
i remember I went to an infamous local place near sanur beach called the bungalows, many years ago, it was an enclosed house, as you drove up the drive girls would step out from behind the trees into the car headlights, then you got to the house, there were loads of girls, u picked 1 / a few and they had rooms there.
amazing. was about $25 if I recall. is it there still?!

Great Post.
What was your impression of hotel guest friendliness? As I told you, I stayed before at Bintang Bali Hotel in South Kuta. Initially I checked in with "Ms. Temporarily Yours" from Jakarta and no problem. Later, she returned to Jakarta and a local replacement model became difficult. Ladies told me they would have 'big problem" at my hotel.
PS......The "Western Pollution" problem is not tolerated in the South Kuta (Tuban) area.

What do you mean when you state skip Kuta?
I’m actually looking for a mixture of Pattaya (the nightlife, the mess, the girls, the booze, etc.) and Phuket (the beach, the sea, the girls, the nightlife, etc.). In which ways does Kuta not fit with this?
What alternatives are you giving me (anywhere, any town, any country) for swimmable sea and good P4P?

Gogo bars are illegal in Bali.
However, there is one gogo bar in Bali own by the Bali chief of police. Its located in one of the houses connected to the big karaoke nearest to the DFS and is setup for local clientele. If anyone is interested I can get the name of the place and the managers phone number.
How it works is the manager takes you to a large room and calls down 20 girls to pick from. After choosing 4 or 5 girls, the girls will sit with you for 15 minutes before getting started with their striptease. 90% of the girls are from Manado (an island located near PI, hence the girls are very attractive and act like PI girls) The trick is to get the girls to drunk before their show. Buy a bottle of Black and play a dice or card game with them to get them drunk. Once drunk, all hell breaks loose because these girls are young and cant handle their liquor. They will start by taking off their clothes and hanging naked from the walls. After that, they will grab you to give you a bj in the bathroom for 300,000 rph. Its better to decline their request and pay each girl 500,000 for sex. The girls then will start humping all the guys in the group and move from guy to guy. If your interested in an orgy this is the place. Activities usually last about 3 hours and for 5 girls, bottle of balck and room charge the costs ran between 350-400 usd. Im sure if no sex, we could have keep the price down around 60-100 usd. The place is opened from 2pm to 5am.
