Definitely not $200.
I was in San Jose a few weeks ago for a week. Each night, I paid somewhere between $40 to $100. Around $80 is the going rate for a night of fun. The girls automatically ask for $100 but quickly settle on less. Some real stunners there.

Most guys spend most of their time in gringo gulch, the Del Ray and Key Largo mainly. I usually hit them late at night just to see what's shaking.
I always have a groupe of gals that I call when I get to town. Most of them used to work at the Park Hotel in it's hay day.
The Sportsman Lodge is a good hotel, you can take multiple girls to your room at the same time and everyone who stays there is a monger.
At the Blue Marlin Bar (Del Ray hotel), there is a general 5pm happy hour monger meeting at the tables by the small door. All of the guys I know will gladly swap notes on the girls.
Don Gordo has a map of SJO on his page, it's printable and shows so many places most guys don't know about.
Don has "walking tours" every so often. Guys meet early afternoon and do a walking tour of some of the local places.

Thats the next Costa Rica, or is it the next Panama. But people, women there are still think, still friendly and still cheap.
Once the sun goes down just take a walk from the Intercontintal Metro Centro across the street to the gas station. Not only are the girls very good looking, but fun and friendly, and although I haven't been there for a year or so, $20.00 should do you fine for the evening.

Costa Rica still has plenty of good fishing spots, you just need to get a lay of the land. There are plenty of inexpensive MPs, some with some hot smoking Nicas.
I just might give Nicaragua a try this summer.
