You paid a stadium girl (mostly drug induced sluts who get laid 24/7 in one of the sleaziest discos in town) 750,000 rupiah for 6 hours? But then you gave a sweet thing from tigah puluh 100,000 for all night? It sounds like you pay whatever you can get away with without considering the girl at all.

Agree 100%. Lived their for 3 years and was back twice in the last 6 months.
Rp300000 for a very good looker, firm big tits from Bats for the whole night. Ok picked her up a bit late at 12.30am. (She had already paid her Rp 60000 entrance fee)

Time and again, I have said, its more of an appeal actually, that fellow mates from this forum heading to indonesia should not take it at par with other expensive countries in the region or the world for that matter. The prices are hiked up unnecessarily for all of us.
If someone wants to eb a spendthrift, let him head on to Bali. Keep Jawa inexpensive.

After having said that, No offence to any of the fellow posters. But I would like to bring a few points into light. Please bear with me.
1.I am a guy into my mid 20s and reasonably good looking, not a DESPERATE FAT OLDIE.
2.I believe Indonesia is more fun. IF a guy is capable of scoring with a girl who is a non-pro. In my view Indonesia WAS NOT made for whoring..but more of a GF experience.
3.I have lived in Indonesia for a number of years back and speak the language myself. Though I must add, I do not stay in Jakarta now.
4.I do not prefer hanging out in Jakarta ONLY. I have been around Jawa.
5.Tigah-Puluh does not have any cover charge on week days
6.The girl I got from STADIUM performed on 2 guys, not one. So, 750,000 for 6 hours is not a bad fee.
7.Whether the girl in Tigah Puluh wanted 80,000 for her college fees or buying a new set of lingerie is none of my business. Bottom line is..I paid what the girl asked for without hesitating.
8.Its quite probably the girl I had for Rp. 80,000 in Tigah Puluh could have been a guy a few years back. I am sure though, she had the correct hole at the correct place.
9.I frequently say, "to each his own". It depends who's making 40,000 a year and how much he wants to pay. This forum is not the right place to discuss my source and amount of income.
10.If someone feels that my experiences are a great big pot of lies and that I am misleading the members of this forum, I do not bear a grudge to them. Rather I wholeheartedly and quite earnestly sympathize with them. They may not have had fun the "singlenstr8" way in Jakarta and may not be as lucky as me in scoring, hence the cynical comments.
On a final note, my view of Jakarta and Bandung on this forum should by no means be treated as an end point by an authority - NO, I AM NOT THAT. Go out, find out for yourself. If you gotta pay Rp. 350,000 for a looker, do it. Its your money and will, after all.

Should also add that I found, most of the Indo girls never actually ask for money up front (they may hint at it in the morning). Also, found they freely go with you (if you appeal to them) and then in the morning you just slip something in their hand and say thank you. Rarely do they count it in front of you, but then maybe in the taxi.
Me personally, I would always give a girl what I felt comfortable with, but never wishing to insult her. Apply the same principle in Thailand and believe that the equivalent of USD 40 to a girl for a great night/morning out, is a fair exchange.
Rp 80000 -100000 (USD9-11), well I would not insult a girl with that offer after she had spent the night with me.

Craigoz, I feel the exact same way. You are right that most of the girls don't even ask for money. You don't HAVE to pay them anything. I am a fairly good looking and relatively young guy with a decent job. I can also speak Indonesian and if there is anything I can do, it is sweet talk the ladies. I can pick up girls pretty much anywhere I want for free. That's not the point.
The bottom line is that these girls are very sweet. They are in a bad situation. Sure, many have jobs as cosmetic counter girls, grocery clerks, 'secretaries', etc. But they only make 300,000 - 1 million rupiah a month at those jobs. (by the way, the girls with jobs rarely go to tiga puluh on the week days when there is no cover, they usually work at 7am 5 days a week, if they say they have jobs when they are there on a week night, that is probably a lie). They live in small rooms that cost about 500,000 rupiah a month rent. Then they have clothes, food, makeup, taxi's etc to pay for each month. The 'nice' girls usually only go out on the hunt a couple of times a month just to make ends meet. I enjoy having them around because they are truly great girls. (If a girl negotiates money up front at Tiga Puluh, I will normally tell her no thanks.)
In the morning, you can give them whatever you want. If I gave a girl 100,000 rupiah after she just had sex with me all night, I would feel like a shit.
By giving these girls that little money, you are promoting these pimps and mama sans. You paid 750,000 for a girl with a mama san, but paid 100,000 for a girl without one. I personally don't prefer to go to the pros who work with the mama sans. I like the GF experience. The thing that makes indonesia special is the GF experience. The girls are so sweet. Believe me, if everyone gave these girls 100,000 for the night, that GF experience would soon be gone. It would be another Thailand.
In Bandung, you can give the girls less because their living expenses are far less than in Jakarta. But in Jakarta, I think giving the girls less than 300,000 for the night when you meet them at an upscale place like tiga puluh is just not ethical.
When I go for short times in massage parlors, discos, etc, sure I only pay 100,000 - 250,000 rupiah. But 100,000 for an all nighter with a girl from Tiga Puluh? That's an insult.
There is a street called 'Jalan Jaksa' very close to the Hard Rock cafe. The girls there are expecting only 100,000 a night. They know that the guys there don't have much money. The rooms there are like $5 usd a night. Mostly backpackers stay there. The girls can't speak much english and they a little rougher than the Tiga Puluh girls usually are. Not dressed as nicely, etc. But if you want to pay 100,000, that is the place to go. There are a few lookers there.
Craigoz, let me know the next time you are in Jakarta. Like I said, I live in Jakarta. If you haven't lived in jakarta for a while, I can probably show you some spots you dont even know exist! As long as you aren't intimidated going to places where we will be the only foreigners around. I appreciate hanging out with guys who like to have a good time, but respect the 'nice' ladies.

I will be back in about 2 months for a weeks holiday. Currently looking to buy a property in Jakarta or Bali later this year.

IMHO got to agree with just about everything Koteka and CraigOZ have said. After several years living there, I can count on one hand the number of times I was asked about money before leaving the bar, and the few times that occurred it was always in that bar in the bloody Hyatt.
Bit harsh on the Stadium girls though, what was it ? "drug-ridden slappers" I bet they were all innocent once.
I'm on my way there at the end of this month after a year of hell in the Peoples-bloody-Republic of China - any updates on the town greatly appreciated - sad to say I don't venture much out of Blok M and LM's these days.
I'm also thinking of buying some property in JKT or somewhere down the coast in Anyer / Carita / Labuan - anyone know of any good websites with property listings ?
