Tokyo is a waste in my view. Most forms of transportation are expensive (except some buses and the subway) and the cheapest ryoken I could find was $75 per night and a big step down from Western hotel standards. Tokyo is basically made up of thousands of drab ugly buildings with nothing terribly interesting inside or outside. It's different, yes, but not worth the cost of getting there and staying there. The P4P scene is also very expensive compared to BKK and you're just getting illegal Thai girls anyway. It's a total joke.
If you're going to visit Japan, be sure to avoid Tokyo and check out places like Kyoto and Hokkaido instead. Also, forget about P4P and learn enough Japanese to score the real thing instead. Japanese girls are easy prey to a clean and suave gaijin.

If you are still young and fit, I think Japan is best for freebie actions. I went there last year and I tried pick up everywhere in clubs, subways, streets, shoppings, and always got lucky. Japanese girls love to have fun and its easy to pull them for a drinks from street and then go on to love hotel later.
Its the sheer number of f***able girls everywhere that makes the succes rate good. I always try in some basic Japanese and some basic English and try to pull them directly for a drinks or some snacks and try to test them to see if there is any further.
The girls that follow you to have some drinks are quite easy to take further to your hotel or get a love hotel if you are in Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku, Ikebukuro areas, the sheer numbers of apprroachable girls are amazing.
In the past I scored some of the most elegant girls in the world in Japan picking them up from streets or shopping. If the Japanese girls have a liking to you, they won't be shy to follow you, they are quite straight. The language is not a big problem because I have always found girls wanted to have some one night fun.

To anyone going to Tokyo looking for accomodation, you might want to look at the Andon ryokan at Ueno.
Ueno is a bit far out from the centre of tokyo but is accessible by the subway system. The rooms are about 8000 yen per night but thats for 2 people, so that makes it around 20 quid a night per person.
This is a ryokan, not a hotel, so you sleep on a futon (pretty comfy) and share bathroom facilites. I should say that this is a really modern ryokan (as you will see from the website) and also that I have no connection to it, or the owners - but ive stayed there about 3 times now because its, clean, modern, safe and you get brekkie too.
dont know how girl-friendly it is, but if youve booked the room and said its for 2 people then I doubt they would think the girl is anyone but your GF/wife.

THere is a bar called Rabbit's Eye in Ropongi. It ia a Karaoke bar with girls for take-away, that's their main business. Used tp be 50000 Yen for 2 hrs back at your hotel, If you come arround midnite you can negotiate that the gir stay the whole nite for the same price, as she is unlikely to get a further customer at 02.00 in the morning- The girls are usually Thai.
