Mick, for new comers to Brasil, I think its better to stay some where that is easy to navigate. Capital Sao Paulo is too huge to move around for a newbie. It has the best and most numbers of girls to choose from. Also the Sao Paulo coast has some really happening towns like Guaruja, Santos, Ubatuba, Sao Vicente, Bertioga, ect ect, but the biggest problem is you have to drive or must know how to take the intricate interstate bus system. So its quite hard for newbies.
For new comers, I still suggest to stick to Rio, Fortaleza,
Salvador in Bahia, or Recife or in summer time Florianopolis can be the best. Since you like morenas or tanned skins, anywhere north has plenty of them.
So I narrow down some cities that may be easy for you Rio, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza. Rio and Salvador also have lots of interesting sightseeing to do. Recife and Fortaleza are just beaches and mongering.
If you never went to Brasil, I reccommend you to go Rio and check it out, lots of working girls also in Brasil lots and lots of freebies. This is another big plus in Brasil, there are lots of girls just want to have some fun with you without any concern for money. Especially the northeast, its very very easy to get freebies. Very friendly girls. Take them out for a nice dinner and drinks, most of your dates end up in bed as freebies.
About accommodation, if you stay short term, I think the option is basically hotels, but in Rio there are lots of smaller hotels or pousadas for 20-40 USD a night. If you stay long term,its better to rent apartment from agents.
Again I narrow down to Rio and Salvador (has lots of dark skin girls and quite easy for free sex as well) you can check out both cities by low cost airline such as GOL http://www.voegol.com.br/
and also you won't get bored when you are not mongering, lots of interesting places to visit, hopefully there will be garotas to show you around.
If you are in Rio, also visit Cabo Frio, Buzios, Angras Dos Reis, Parati. These are absolutely beautiful beach cities and last one Parati is a beautiful colonial river town.

Just starting to research Rio, have a friend who goes occasionaly but takes a lady w/him, so he's not sure about this question, most hotels are not G/F, either use a 'love motel' or rent a apt, true?

Most of the high end hotels are not GF but some of the other ones are. Need to check the international forums for the ones that are. There are a lot of posts than can point you in the right direction. My friend that went to Brazil has only gone back to Thailand once and that was only because of cost. He loves the PSE and the GFE over there. Have fun!!

I have been to Brasil a couple times and had a brief work stint there....most higher end hotels in the Rio area (ie Copacabana or Ipenima) are not Girl Friendly....
In fact, I had a friend (a guy) come down and stay for 3 days and it was a hassle with the front desk and he had to pay extra...the hotels are pretty strict...and to boot a short time room was like $50 bucks back in 2000....
My first P4P experience was there and IMO SEA is a much better bang for the buck, (no pun intended)....
not taking anything away, its a cool country to check out.

When I went to Rio the place to go for freelancers was Help Disco on Avenue Atlantica:

Was the biggest disco in South America, seating for a few thousand. Doesn't get started until after midnight. Rio was fun for 2 weeks: great beaches, beautiful women, some fine jazz clubs, a crazy sex scene, but quite a dangerous place. Exercise caution, stay in well-lit areas at night, and stuff your wallet into your sock if you want to keep it.

Rio is amazing.
Fantastic food and the women are mind blowingly sexy.
I think I am lucky to live and work in Thailand but I would count myself more lucky to be in Rio.
Help disco takes and little bit of time to get used to the way it works but its fun.
Lumo's is a must go to. A Brazil version of a massage parlor set in a shopping centre.
4X4 Another Brazil version of a massage parlor but with so many girls in it I lost count.
Really if you have the time and the money do your research and plan ahead and get your ass to Rio at least once.
