The street walker scene is very erratic currently. Some days you spot a lot of them walking aorund behind the Ramada hotel area and on others there are hardly any.
I guess the SW's are getting smart. They vary the time of the day when they venture out so that it is not too easy for anyone to say when they will be around.
The other day I was in the vicinity and spotted a hottie who was perhaps, at first glance anyway, a 9 on the scale of 10. I tried to find a parking so that I could watch her and perhaps get a number off her but the cabbie behind me was impatient and kept blowing his horn. Did not want any undue attention drawn on me so I went around the block and came right back with the intention of getting that number.
Pity. She had disappeared. Probably got picked up. Some days you dont see a single SW in the area. The Alain centre parking area also has it's ups and downs. Some days it is full of SWs. On others there is no one around. This thursday when I parked my car close to the Spinneys and we walked down to the Regal plaza there were maybe 2 or 3 SWs aorund at the most. And they were probably taking a walk, after dinner, because we were not approached.

Guest Friendly or not Guest Friendly ?
The Renaissance hotel in Deira, until last year was GF. But of late they have started making it uncomfortable for the person who orders IN-Call service. A fellow member was forced to come down to the lobby, when his ordered delicacy arrived, to sign in the guest and also to agree that he would pay dhs 50, which would be added to his bill at the time of checkout.
All this, as one can imagine, is too much like the walk of shame that I used to endure in those good old days when I was seeing my Chinese regular. She used to ask me to come near the Sea Shell Inn hotel and from there she used to lead me through the by lanes to the room for rent that she had selected for that day. And this in the bright, afternoon sunlight.
Imagine having to come down from your room to the lobby and being interviewed by the house detective or whatever they are called in the hotels in dubai. And imagine having to say that the hottie standing there is actually someone you have asked to join you for a tete-a-tete, with all the hotel staff looking on. I am sure a lot of punters will think twice before ordering room service at this hotel.
I raise this question now because another member of the forum also had to suffer this indignity recently. And it was not in the middle of the night. It was in the early evening, around 6 pm.
I can just imagine a bonafide executive lady who books into this hotel to attend a conference or something. Imagine her being pulled up by the hotel detective, when she returns from a walk or something, and being asked embarrassing questions. I am sure not every member of the staff will be aware that she is a bonafide guest at the hotel and not working girl and this scenario could very well take place. In a perverse sort of way I wish this would happen. The lady would probably bring the house down with her protests. And that would put an end to this hotel's indiscretions. Perhaps...
Now we come to the main question. Where do we put this hotel. Is it GF or NGF. Or shall we just say Semi-GF ?

Well guys, Just Fun and Sporadic missed a fun evening at the Seaview last Thursday. They not only missed the best live band in Dubai who, as always, played non-stop solid hard-rock music all night, but also they missed the small, but very tasty selection of Oriental beauties who frequent the club.
To quote an often-uttered saying in UK, “bring home a Chinese takeaway”, (sometimes understood to be a bag of sweet-sour chicken, rice and prawn crackers), this saying takes on a somewhat different meaning in Dubai.
Anyway, my “take-away” had that day returned from 2 months of abstinence with the family in Beijing and was suitably keen to partake of some frenetic horizontal gymnastics.
Gentlemen, buy the time the morning broke, not only was lower appendage thoroughly worn out, but I experienced considerable discomfort eating a bacon sandwich for breakfast – something to do with a tired tongue I think. Anyway without getting into too much nitty-gritty, it was certainly more fun than an all-night game of scrabble.

Interesting observations on my last DXB trip:
* I heard a little about Jules Bar in the past, made it to an Australian Buffet (all you can eat and drink) with some colleagues nearby in the Meridien Village (highly recommended), went into Jules for a nightcap so they could witness the scenery (the Germans had only heard about but not seen the WG scene here). Some real lookers here, mostly CIS. Came back the next night, and thought I'd partaje of some of the scenery. One woman, a blue-eyed brunette, VERY attractive caught my eye and it looked like there might be some opportunity. Then she asked me "Where you live?" I said behind Bur Juman. She said, "I no go there, some people I know. Not good." She was very polite about it. However, two others told me almost the same thing there. Are the WG's assigned "territories" or something? Not noticed before, but this is the first time I've mongered on the other side of the creek.
* I wound up at Cyclone later and scoring big time (negotiated down to 600Dhs, the lowest I've been hit for from any CIS there). The girl and I walked out to my car - interestingly, she climbed in the back seat and ducked until we were past the Umm Hureir roundabout. Apparently the LE are camped out a short ways from the Cyclone exit and are stopping private vehicles. Anyway, we had 3 hours of monumental transactions, and then asked if I could drive her home. I had no problem (no way I could get to sleep at that point anyway), and drove her back - she rode with me in the front seat, being all charming and grabby, etc. - no problem. Her apartment was somewhere near the Pakistani embassy (one of the look-alike blocks). I think LE has highly selective enforcement - important to know exactly where and where not to do things, it looks like.
* I stayed at London Crown for the first time, basically because the usual apartment building I stay in was booked solid (tennis tournament, Global Village visitors, World Cup, whatever). While the studio rooms are holes, the 1 bedroom they gave me (after they gave me a studio with non-functioning sink and toilet) was very decent. While GF is probably an exaggeration for any accommodation in Dubai, anybody wandering the lobby in the 1230am-100am timeframe will see literally a dozen guys (usually limited to moderate good looks) coming back with their "guests". And a hell of a lot less staring and frowning from the staff than in some of the other apartments on the same street.
Interesting change of pace this time.

Visited DXB a few days ago for business for 3 nights. One night was wasted becuase a colleague of mine took me to dinner atc., so no mongering for me. Initlally I was a bit early for the York so I looked in on the Victory in the AP. From my brief conversation with badass, the next day, I gathered that Blue top was leaving Dubai in a few days. Perhaps already left because, during my three visits to the york since then, there has been a lack of sighting. Probably gone or perhaps likes to visit different bars on different days.

Hello friends. Was just going through the emails I recieve from some of the Dubai Yahahahar groups. One of them is actually organising a couples get together in April somewhere in dubai. Sounds like a lot of fun and games are in the pipeline there. Apparently they have a good number of couples already interviewed and accepted to the party.
And a nice mix too. Some from the west and some from the east. Not a bad collection. Should be fun. And the group believes in fun and games of the adult kind so the party is likely to be a blast for eveyrone involved.

Monday night I had a drink in Jockeys with an colleague who has been visiting for a few days. He called over a Urkranian girl he had previous experience of, blond, nice cleavage on show, late 20's at a guess and seemed like fun, her friend came over and joined us but she was pleasant but not my type.
After my friend left with said girl I waited around to see if Smiler turned up, which she did, we adjourned to her place for a couple of hours. She has certainly become a firm favourite of mine, not as exciting as some but so nice to be with.
