Used to stay at the Marco Polo hotel and never had a problem taking girls back there...
A question for the guys though...it's been some time since I was there and having trouble locating this hotel on the net...
Has it changed names or disappeared altogether???

Mate, is this Marco Polo in JKT? The one is Deira Dubai is not GF at all.

Definately the Marco Polo in Jakarta - a nice hotel to stay in and they had good meals in the restaurant - buffet breakfast and last I was there a buffet dinner with a wide variety of good food...

Will be going to Jakarta soon, a first for me, staying at Crowne Plaza on biz trip. Been reading posts, most quite old and outdated but still interesting. I'd appreciate a few refreshers :
1. Is CP girl-friendly? Anything interesting in the hotel - e.g. disco, FL bar, etc?
2. Understand from earlier posts that rates for FLs were in the range of 400K to 1M LT. Is that still accurate?
3. Any problems in most hotels/CP specifically to have a girl come up to room unaccompanied - I'll be travelling with biz colleagues and will have to be discreet walking around hotel...
4. Had a look at BlokM website. Any other suggestions for nearby FL bars? Is there a similar to BTF "JTF" site for inspiration and education?

Hi Wagie, to answer your Questions as best I can:-
1. Is CP girl-friendly? Anything interesting in the hotel - e.g. disco, FL bar, etc? Not 100% sure but I'm yet to find a Hotel in Jakarta that is not GF!
2. Understand from earlier posts that rates for FLs were in the range of 400K to 1M LT. Is that still accurate? Little bit of inflation on this, Blok M girls at about 400-600 LT, Jakarta 5 Star Hotels (CG's in Mulia, Tiga Pula in Le Meridien etc) will ask 1 Million but usually are fine with 500-600K! Definitely no more!
3. Any problems in most hotels/CP specifically to have a girl come up to room unaccompanied - I'll be travelling with biz colleagues and will have to be discreet walking around hotel... No problem but be careful with Free Lancers, the usual, don't leave money or things in the open, NEVER leave your Drink unattended as there has been lots of reports of guys getting there drink spiked!
4. Had a look at BlokM website. Any other suggestions for nearby FL bars? Is there a similar to BTF "JTF" site for inspiration and education? In a word NO, early in the night, D's place, try to get to the Wet T shirt Contest, well worth it, after this Top Gun & My Bar. Nothing much happens in the Blok till after 10pm!
Enjoy but it is NOT as safe as Bangkok, stick to the Silver Top Cabs or Bluebird Cabs! Enjoy!
