Rockefellas was charging the usual 50 dhs during the ramadhan and during the mourning period last year. No music and no bands but they charged. Of course they were serving liquor. Maybe that is why they charged?
Liquor can be served during Ramadan after 7pm. Religious holidays like tonight are dry 100%

Happened to stop into TGIT this afternoon for an hour. Some familiar faces, some new (as usual). Couple of cute chinese, CIS bit lacking. Not crowded.
Made the newbie mistake of getting hemmed in by a couple I was NOT interested in; the cute one that I was interested in could only exchange glances over their shoulders. Instead of breaking away immediately, dawdled too long, and by the time I had broken free, she was busy with another punter whom she obviously was familiar with. Seemed to be entrenched with him for the afternoon, although still some smiles thrown my way when he was talking with friends.
TGIT will be closed tonight, Wed., and tomorrow afternoon, Thurs, to re-open Thursday night (as previously posted).
Damn, and there goes my chance to check out Jockey's.

Am I just getting cranky with age? For LT outcalls (she comes to your location, evening, by definition), what is an acceptable arrival time?
Previously, with (semi) regulars, I'd call 7, 7:30 (post any of their TGIT or other late afternoon appointments), and they'd appear 8, 8:30, cook dinner, and we'd enjoy the full evening (for sure, I'm a cheap charlie, and like getting my money's worth, time wise). But of late, the standard arrival time seems to be after 10, as if they were keeping office hours. In fact, I've balked with a couple of first choices of late, when they've specified a late arrival.
Is business THAT good? Certainly, besides sailors, I've seen a number of contractors either heading to, or coming from, places north. For sure, THEY will drive prices up.
(And what's with all the italics in the above post?)

The "Contractors" you mention are a prime source of inflation. A regular says she can easily get a 1000 AED or more from some of them!

I expect an in-call to arrive no later than 9. What is the point otherwise?
Indeed, I tend to call regulars so they are in-situ by 7. I appreciate that they could be doing some business before then, but not likely.
I hope that some of the compensation is in the fact they know they will be fed and entertained, not just bent over the nearest chunk of furniture.
I have yet to find the provider (barring a shark) who does not enjoy lounging around a nice hotel room, chatting, listening to music, having a drink etc.
Leaving aside the possibility of multi-STīs money wise, it must be more pleasant to relax rather than be hustling back and forth.
Then again, possibly not!

Sporadic, I agree. My experience is that working in the kitchen provides a nice feeling of being able to play house and mimic a normal sort of life, if only for a few hours. The other advantage, besides some good, home cooking (and a clean kitchen), was that while some would just borrow a t-shirt to pull OVER their outfit, others would strip BEFORE pulling on tee. Just never heeded their calls to buy a proper apron. Certainly gave some nice views as they were bending over the stove (and there was no truth to the rumor that I'd wash the tee in HOT water, and throw in dryer for 2 hours).
Even the regular, who did not cook (downside of pulling a young one, sans kid ["Mama does all the cooking"]), enjoyed ordering out and having dinner together. I would go out to pick up; she'd stay home and inevitably I'd return to find my place straightened up.
Treating them like a GF will most likely produce a GFE experience, with a full stomach and a cleaner abode.

Quite an observation.... I was with a Chinese lady 2 days ago.... and she sports fancy jewellery on top of diamond studded Omega watch among other accesories + sending money home on regular basis. She's not even a A or B class material with the fact that she does only Dhs 300-400 a nite. I begun to find it a lil odd when they complain about not making enough in DXB while mosta them are way better off than most professionals.
I guess she's the GFE type and never short of regular clients despite her compromised offered package.

Management Summary:
York on a late Tuesday (12:30 - 2:00), busy, but nothing special around, for me. Usual mix. Streets outside TEEMING with chinese street walkers. Have noticed that York is becoming hit and miss of late, when, before, could always EASILY find a number of ladies who could be placed on the "to do" list. Have not YET gone home alone, but have come close several times. My recommendation: still worth a visit, but if you see a nice one, book early.
Just a rambling FR:
Nice thing about Dubai: bars stay open LATE, so, even if you decide you're "restless" later on, still opportunities. Last Tuesday, decided past midnight I'd go see what was happening at the York.
The Shoemart parking lot was a REAL gautlet; FULL of chinese, with some africans sprinkled in-between. Al-Ain parking lot, across the street, also had a lot of action of the same variety. Saw a couple of chinese that would have been right at home in any of the bars. They were looking good, but wanted to check out York, and was looking for Ee in particular and to get a looksee of the place in general.
Another gautlet, new to me, anyway, were the birds on a wire perched at the entrance to the York; mainly chinese. THAT must please the York's management to no end; NOT what you want to see in front of YOUR hotel (management's perspective). Just goes to show that the Shoemart/Al Ain parking lots were OVERFLOWING. (All a disaster just waiting to happen).
Moved inside York. Was surprised at the crowd on a Tuesday night, now 12:45. Stopped to order a drink and size up the situation. Mix of chinese, africans, CIS. As soon as I stopped, a chinese 10 came up. Unfortunately, it was a 6 + 4, tag team, and I was now a sandwich. New, for me, was the marketing employed: while speaking the standard litany, each was running her hand up my shirt sleeve, reaching inside, and playing with my nipples. Enjoyed their attention while I surveyed the scene. Did see some familar faces: Ginny (nice body) ; saw Nancy (school teacher look) had returned from China; another waltzed by, previous encounter whose name I could not remember. But did not see any of my current regulars, and not Ee. Was not asking the 6, think her name DunDun, about any menu as I did not want to get bogged down in negotiations THEN, and the usual hassle of "you take 2".
As the tag team was screening me from speaking with any other potentials, I POLITELY excused myself, extracated myself from their grasp, and made my way to the back pool tables, looking to see if Piper was around. Tag team followed, NOT taking the hint. Again, sandwiched me in, and proceeded with the nipple massage. I hadn't even made it a quarter way around the circuit. Again, extracated myself and headed off to continue the circuit; this time, they did not follow. Did make a newbie mistake: I did not get DunDun's mobile number. At that time, just wasn't interested in making the effort to split the tag team. Regrets later.
Remember: Never hurts to get a mobile number.
Having made the full circuit, nothing, except Dundun, really registering. Did not see any of the girls I'd pull without hesitation. Made it back to my starting point. Now past 1. Selection thinning fast; one moment, Nancy there, another, not. By that time, figured I'd split the tag team and head home with Dundun. YEA, RIGHT. Anyone who's been in that situation knows what happened: QUICKLY spotted Miss 4; DD nowhere to be seen. Now, if I wanted to sample her, would have to return and scout.
Found myself besides a nice looking, bare-midriffed chinese in black, looking bit more professional, dancing in place to attract attention. Her marketing matched her look: very brief litany, then a quick "you take me?". When I did not QUICKLY answer in the affirmitive, she said "Maybe later", turned around, and resumed her dancing, hoping to attract some moths. A Pro for sure, to wanting to spend any time with a mere potential.
Last encounter was with a group of 4 nicely racked chinese, all in a group. Two were talking with a local punter; I don't know what was being said, but one of the girls let out a resounding NO. Looking around, and catching me eyeing her, she winked, I nodded, and she moved over (for the newbies, that IS how easy it is). Some nice marketing, giving me a chance to scope out her rack (probably enhanced), while she proceeded with a small-of-the-back massage. Jen had spent 2 months in Muscat; now working on her 3rd month in Dubai. Given the hour (now approaching 2), quickly got down to the negotiations. Menu was good; she claimed she liked oral, and bbbj/cim was "No problem if you clean"; the qualification lending credence to her veracity. Number of shots, duration mutually agreed. Her price was 500 dhs; bit high, given the hour and climate (buyers' market). But she did not seem willing to drop down to 400, and it was not worth it to me to wait around another hour to closing to see if there would be a fire sale. Agreed to her price. Ready to go, right? Ehhhhhhht.
Mentioned that it would be pay AFTER. That was a show-stopper. Her comment: "FIRST pay, THEN can relax and enjoy." (Certainly a true statement from HER perspective). Given the hour, her menu qualifications, and a general feel, I figured she was NOT a rip-off, and would deliver what was stated. However, I just didn't feel like setting a precedent (and remembering all the other ladies who did NOT object to a pay after; unfortunately, no references were around). I just told her I ALWAYS paid in the morning; she gave me a very cool "No thank you", turned around, and rejoined her circle of friends. No need to speak chinese; I could easily tell the topic of discussion was why the deal had fallen through, given the movement of lips and the group glances in my direction.
Remember: Be prepared for the consequences of your decisions.
Made one last circuit; NOTHING interesting. My hope of catching a returning "early ST'er" out for a double-header was not being realized. One of Jen's nicely racked friends stopped by. Could not quite tell what she was saying, but did not seem to be marketing herself, but rather asking why I'd passed on her friend. Did not feel like starting negotiations from zero, and was sure she would have the same attitude as to WHEN payment was due. Decided to go back to plan A.
Went outside, and called Ee.- Good news. Phone rang, and she answered.
- Better news. Could here music and crowd noise in the background. Asked where she was; "Astoria". She asked where I was; I replied, "At York, looking for you". Her response surprised me; "York, no good customers.", with me THINKING, What, Astoria is better?. Took a minute of conversation for her to place me, but when she did,...
- Best news. "I come see you, 5 minutes".
5 minutes later, she was pulling up in a taxi, and we were off, back through the gautlets of "birds on the wire" and the parking lot. Reduced menu (from Jen's offer), but great massage in-between rounds.
Summary:Get phone numbers of interesting ladies.- Past midnight, the ones you find attractive, others will too.
- Average price does seem to have gone up by 100/200 dhs.

Last night, for the want of anything better to do, took a drive over to the much vaunted Club in Um Al Quwain. I had heard a lot about it and have been meaning to go over for a looksie for quite sometime. Wish I had gone to the York instead.

On Thursday, returned to York to look for DunDun. Arrived at the awkward hour of 10:30; too late for happy hour, too early for any real stars. Believe it or not, it was WORSE than Tuesday, with even less of an appealing selection, at least for me. Again, some familiar faces, but none of my regulars, and, of course, no sign of DunDun. Not even the Racked Gang of 4 were around. Sadly disappointing, especially for a weekend.
Stuck around for a couple of hours, hoping that either some stars would arrive later, or else some ST'ers would be back for a 2nd round. Neither happened. Considered heading out to another venue, but too late for Imperial (it gets PACKED with males on Thursdays), didn't feel like a Cyclone weekend surcharge, and couldn't be bothered with a trip to the unknown, to me, night Astoria. Considered Rockafellas, but wanted a comfortable chinese. Also considered SeaShell Inn, to check out the new band, BUT, my experience, while P4P available, the quantity of selection was not there.
Question: Can anyone comment on Jockey's AFTER midnight? Certainly some pickings there early in the evening, but late? And how about SeaShell these days?
Did have a nice convesation with a previous encounter, going back to China next week. Unfortunately, she fell into the "OK, but no return" category. However, she did help indirectly: an attractive friend came up to talk with her, caught my eye, the friend was no doubt briefed, then came over to try her marketing. Nice, not a star, but gave a gfe feeling. Menu OK. Price was 500; gave me the "weekend" surcharge spiel, and, with the M/F ratio worsening by the minute, and the female selection certainly NOT improving, agreed. I did not bother with a "pay after" statement, figuring that our common friend had given me a recommendation (NEVER doubt their networking). Issue never came up.
Nice GFE; only slight blemish was when, in the morning, she asked for an additional 50 dhs for "York ticket". But no problem accepting my "Ah, noooo". Not quite enough to make the starting rotation, but certainly someone to keep in the bullpen, in case some relief needed.
