The price's gone up to 70$ or 80$.
I am not sure why you say the girls in south part are darker than seoul girls. They are almost the same. Usually we say daegu girls are the prettiest girls in Korea.
Korean girls are one of the prettiest girls in the world and have very good skin, long-lasting firm body even after baby, but they are expensive and need special care. LOL;;;

Korean women in Korea can be dazzlingly beautiful. I lived and worked there and was even married to a Korean. However, their emotional highs and lows can drive you bloody nuts. Also, the culture is much more difficult to get a handle on compared to Thailand. I knew many guys married to Korean women who eventually got divorced and ended up in the P.I. with a lovely Filipina because of the demands and problems they had with Korean women and the Korean culture. Thailand is a cake walk compared to Korea in terms of getting along for the long run.

I am Korean and really sorry to hear that.
But, in some ways it is true that korean women demand a lot of things and it will be the huge gab to overcome for western people.
I should say this that the demand is not because korean women are greedy but because we have different mentaliy and heavy responsibility of our family.
As you might know, the main doctorant of Confucius is to respect old people, take care of them, and be responsible for family events which would not be understandable to western people.
For example, if you are married to a woman then you have to attend her family events and take care of her family with responsibiliyt like son.
You should help them financially if her family has financial problem, give her parents pocket money, and so on. Some of these things are not obligatory but better to do these thing for the peace.
Asian countries are under strong family value and confucinism, and I think Korea is the strongest one.
I could not expain all the difference of mentality, beliefs, responsibilities and culture but I want to say that there are many foreigners who are having happy life with korean women or korean husband.

coco, I'm korean too, but have been living in the States almost all my life. Most of the Korean women here try to hold true to their cultural roots, but many of them have been corrupted by the Western idealogy. The days of the subservient Korean wife that will have your slippers ready when you come home from work are gone. Some of them are just downright ghetto, I wouldn't want to mess with them. Still, I plan on marrying one. Must keep the pure bloodlines going. LOL. My first wife was a Jap, & she was as psychotic as they come. >X o

don't expect too much. there is no more devotion to husband in korean culture and japanese culture.
There is STILL confuciunism in Korean mentality but that DOES work in some ways. Between you and your wife it is like 70% american style+30% Korean style.
IT is also true that in some ways american wife would be much better than korean wife.
Just considering a girl only and for your marriage life korean woman would be the world best choice. BUT, in marriage husband and wife's family get involved in the life and this is the most difficult problem for the life time. (actually for the marriage time)

You said your first wife was japanese? second was korean?? I don't want to be rude but curious.. how many wives have you had so far??

I've only been married once, & it was a disaster. Just as you said in your post, when the families got involved, all of our troubles started. You'd think that Korean & Japanese families would share alot of the same type of ideologies, but there are lots of other factors that serve as barriers in a marriage, difference of religion being a major one. My Jap ex wife was Buddhist, & my family is Christian. She also lived alot of years on her own hustling & being independent here in the States, while I always grew up around family & friends, which was another major rift in our marriage, as we both had completely different ways of thinking & approaching various life issues.
Funny enough, she was a topless dancer at a gentleman's club when I met her. I guess it serves me right for falling for a girl in the adult entertainment industry. The learned lessons from that failed relationship will serve me well in any future affairs I may have w/any Thai BG though. There's a silver lining afterall. LOL.

Dude, no offense, but this holds true far more in the states than anywhere else, but WHAT WERE YOU THINKING MARRYING A STRIPPER?
Me Thinks that the problems your experienced had less to do with cultural differences, rather than the fact that she was a stripper -- unless you consider 'unstable losers' to be a culture all by itself. I have yet to meet a stripper that wasn't somewhat screwed up.

dt, we all think with our small heads sometimes. Totally understandable. But you said you grew up with your family and Christian, how did they take it when you told them you were going to marry a topless dancer and a Japanese at that? You should know better: Koreans and Japanese don't like each other ( well, at least the older generations, you definitley changed that! lol) and Christians and topless dancers definitely don't belong in the same family! I think you were pushing rocks uphill to begin with.....chance of your marriage working out is probably between zero and none
