You are right, Bahasa Indonesia is definitely easier to learn, plus you don't have to bother with tones.

Eh, truth be told all languages are difficult to learn in the end (depending which one you're starting from, of course). Yes, if you read a romance language already, the WRITING SYSTEM (which is always an arbitrary thing and is unrelated to spoken language) of Indonesian will be much, much less daunting than Thai, and you will have an easier time remembering things because you can write them down.
And yes, Indonesian has no tones, plus its vowel sounds are way less complex than Thai.
However, "they" always "get you" somehow, and in Indonesian it's in morphology (word structure)...prefixes, suffixes, infixes and such.
Trust me, the Southeast Asian language program where I teach also features Indonesian, and there are just as many students who sound like retard buffoons when they try to tackle the Intermediate and Advanced levels of that language as those who study the so-called "harder" languages like Thai, Khmer, Vietnamese...
Learning to speak ANY language eventually gets hard when you get to trying to really express yourself in it...

I've had some good experiences in JKT. I went there earlier this year and checked out Malioboro, which is a spa/lounge that has girls from Uzbekistan (marketed as Russian), Columbia (marketed as Spanish), Thai, Chinese, Indonesian, and Vietnamese. Paid 6,800 THB for a session with a Vietnamese girl. Amazing service. Would go back the next time I am in town.

A few places really, was there at the end of last month before Ramadan. If you stay in the South of Jakarta, realistically its the Blok (Blok M) or one of the 5 Star Bars, Bats in the Shangri La still being the best. Top Gun is by far the best Bar in Blok M but tends to get started after 11pm, before this D's Place & later My Bar can be OK but realistically its the same crowd just moving around.
North Jakarta is a Traffic Nightmare but China Town is good for Fun, check out Sparks. Also if your in the Notrth, go to the Alexis Hotel, not much sleeping done here!
Inbetween (more South) there are the classier Bars that attract a similar crowd to the 5 Star Bars, Red Square & Deltas CD Club also fun!

I now tend to stay in Indonesian owned/branded Hotels rather than American Chain ones that get targeted by less desiarable folks! In South Jakarta I stay at the Atlet Century, was cheap but now can be a bit pricey. Large older but recently renovated, with great rooms & good location. No issues with Girls, took two a few weeks back & no one blinked!
Most of the Hotels are GF, Ramadan may change that so better to avoid this month.

Top Gun & D'd Place both have Facebook pages, D's one is interesting if the photos are still up? I think My Bar may have one as well.
In your list I see Dragonfly, last visit interesting, lots of FL's later in the night, maybe too late.
Stadium has too many issues with Drugs, I'd avoid it!
Blowfish is a cool place to go but not a place to shop!
